A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 7

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the learning period, the students are able to:
a. Represent point, line and plane using concrete and pictorial models M7GE-IIIa-1
- describe the undefined terms;
- name the identified point(s), line(s) and plane(s) in a given figure; and
- give examples of objects in real life that maybe used to represent the undefined terms.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a. Topic: Basic Terms and Concepts in Geometry
b. References: Math 7 Learner’s Module
https://ww4w.slideshare.net/mpscils598s07/basics-of-geometry-1
c. Materials: chalk and chalkboard, laptop (power point presentation)
III. LEARNING PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
a. Prayer
b. Greetings and checking of the attendance
c. Classroom management

B. Developmental Activities
a. Review of the previous lesson
Give a brief recap about the past lessons discussed
b. Warm – Up / Motivation
Activity: Objects Representing the Undefined Terms
(Given are names of objects around us that could represent a point, line or plane. Place each
object name in a corresponding column in the table given.)
c. Lesson Proper
- Questions to ponder:
What are the undefined terms in geometry?
What concepts present the foundations of geometry?
Can you sketch the intersection of lines and planes?
- Discussion will be presented through a power point presentation (Basic Terms and
Concepts in Geometry)
d. Generalization
In this lesson, the different terms and concepts in geometry were clearly discussed and
presented. Points, lines and planes, segments, rays and angles are what we call the undefined terms
while collinear and coplanar points are called undefined concepts in geometry.
IV. EVALUATION

List down 5 other objects that could represent

a. a point.

b. a line.

c. a plane.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Use the figure below, identify what is being asked.

a) Name the point(s) in the interior region of the circle.

b) Name the point(s) in the interior region of the triangle.
c) Name the line(s) in the interior region of the triangle.
d) Give other name(s) for line p.
e) Name the plane that can be formed by the three points in the interior of the circle.
f) Name the plane formed by line p and point I.
g) Name the points outside the circular region.
h) Name the points outside the region bounded by the triangle.
i) Name the points of plane M.
j) Give other names for plane M.
