Favorite Scene

My Favorite scene of the

book start was when Brendan
Espinoza was doing one of
his stunts for a YouTube
video called “Leaf Man.” In
this stunt Brendan gets
covered in sticky syrup then
has to rollerblade down a hill
into a pile of leaves. But
Brendan's plans get ruined
when all the dogs at the park
come running towards him
and licking the sticky syrup
off him.
Conflict #1 (man vs society)
The first conflict of the book
was man vs society because
Chase has changed from his
past self but society (the
students at his school) don't
trust him and aren't sure if he
has truly changed. Chase has
to prove to his peers that he is
different, and he must regain
their trust. When Chase and
Breaden shoot a YouTube
video of Breaden going
through a car wash on a bike
when the owner comes out
and sees what's happening, he
immediately blames Chase
and almost calls the police.
Even though he doesn't know
what happened because he
doesn't trust Chase. Very
stupid, Ambrose!” he yells.
“Is this your idea of a joke?
You could have gotten him
killed, you know. This isn’t
the first time you’ve put
people in danger in this town.
I’m surprised you didn’t have
a few cherry bombs left over.
I’m calling the cops.”
(Korman pg. 49)
Conflict #3 (man vs man)
The 3rd conflict of the novel
was man vs man,
there was external conflict of
man vs man were
Chase, Bear, and Aaron
physically fight
over Mr. Solway's medal
Aaron and Bear
wanting to sell it Chase
wanting to give it back
to the rightful owner. Then
there was internal conflict
where Chase didn't know if
he wanted to be friends'
with Aaron and Bear or if
they were good friends at all.
