How your menu main course entrée met the requirements of being a balanced meal: my main
course entrée met the requirements of being a balanced meal because I had protein,
carbohydrates, and vegetables. Chicken was my protein, the protein in chicken helps our bodies
to build muscle tissue, healthier bones, and decreases the risk of injuries and diseases such as
osteoporosis. Rice was the carbohydrates in my meal. Carbohydrates provide the body with
glucose, which is converted to energy that helps our bodies do everyday functions and physical
activities. The cabbage, peppers, and salad were the vegetables in my meal. Vegetables are
overall very healthy vegetables can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and
stroke. Bell peppers have lots of antioxidants and cabbage has lots of vitamin C and helps give
structure and flexibility to the skin. I had ½ of the plate vegetables (salad, cabbage, and bell
peppers) I had ¼ being proteins (chicken) and ¼ being whole rains (rice). I chose lemon water as
the drink; lemon water detoxifies the Liver and boost immunity. Eating balanced meals increases
energy, improves the way your body functions, and strengthens your immune system and eating
meals with others like family members helps you connect and enjoy your food more.

DISCLAIMER: I put salad as a side because Kye does not eat it and I accidentally bought zucchini instead
of cucumber, but it was the same price.
