PSLV-C53 rocket carrying three Singapore satellites
launched by ISRO Three Singaporean satellites were successfully launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as part of a commercial mission for the New Space India Limited. This was the space agency’s second launch of the year; its first, had put an Indian Earth Observation Satellite in orbit. The space agency also carried six in-orbit experiments mounted on the fourth stage of the rocket on the current mission in addition to the commercial satellites.

Weightlifter Sanket Sargar wins silver India’s Sanket Sargar has scripted history, by becoming the first athlete from India to win a medal at Commonwealth Games 2022. He won a silver medal in the men’s 55kg event with a total of 248kg (113kg in snatch, 135 in clean and jerk) to finish behind Malaysia’s Aniq Mohamad, who took gold with a total of 249 kg (107kg in snatch, 142kg in clean and jerk).
Weightlifter Harjinder Kaur wins bronze
India’s Harjinder Kaur claimed the bronze medal in the women’s 71kg weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games 2022 at Birmingham. England’s Sarah Davies won gold with a Commonwealth Games record of 229kg, while young Alexis Ashworth of Canada won silver with a total lift of 214kg.
