CSUF Elevator Speech:

Hi, my name is Haley Fleischner. I am a second-year first-grade teacher at St. Edward

Catholic School. I attending California Polytechnic State University Pomona from Fall of
2016 through 2020 to receive my bachelors in Liberal Studies and a minor in Music. I
graduated as Valedictorian from the college of education and integrative studies. I then
continued my studies at the same university to obtain my multiple subject credential by
Spring of 2021. I began my teaching career back at the very school I came to love learning.
My first-grade teacher retired right when I received my preliminary credential which opened
the door for me to begin my own teacher journey as alumni. This year I became certified in
in STEM through our school’s SMART Lab in the fall of 2022.

As I continue in my educational journey, I have taken on the task of running PD

opportunities and presentations with my diocese, academic decathlon, and holiday
programs at my school. Overall, I have spent a large amount of time growing my own
knowledge alongside the students I instruct and bettering my own school community that I
passionately care for. I find that I am at my best when challenging myself and others to think
outside of the box. In this way, everyone involved in the learning experience is hands on,
critically thinking, and bettering themselves. By incorporating these methods into my
engaging instructional style, I am better able to service my students and school community.

Through helping the student’s grow, the community in turn grows. Within my own
educational journey and growth I hope to take these skills, determination, and creativity to
help me become part of administration. In this way I can service students beyond the
classroom and in their individual communities.
