Hello all,

We hope you had a restful break! The STEAM Expo & Health Fair is coming up on February 4.
If you are interested in hosting a booth or volunteering at the event, this is the last call to fill out
the Google Form. There will be an informational meeting to go over booths and volunteering
more in-depth next Thursday, January 19, at lunch in Mrs. Hazlewood's room (401). If you
want to learn more about the STEAM Expo and the responsibilities of volunteers, be sure to
attend. Those who filled out the Google Form must attend and have already been contacted.

Additionally, we are partnering with Vitalant to host a Blood Drive during the Health Fair.
Permission forms to donate are now available in Mrs. Hazlewood's room. If you are over age 16
but under age 18 and would like to donate blood, please pick up a form and turn it back in to
Mrs. Hazlewood by January 31st. A copy of the permission form is also attached to this email if
you would like to print it and turn it in.

Feel free to reach out via email, Remind, or Instagram if you have any questions. We hope to see
you next Thursday!

Thank you,
Katherine Kricorian

Hello all,

If you are receiving this email, you filled out the Google Form to indicate your interest in
volunteering or hosting a booth at the STEAM Expo & Health Fair. We can't wait to have you
there! There is a STEAM Expo & Health Fair informational meeting next Thursday, January 19,
at lunch in Mrs. Hazlewood's room (401). We will be going over important information
regarding your responsibilities and setup times, and will start confirming final sign-ups. This
meeting is mandatory to attend, so please let us know if you are unable to make it.

We will also discuss instructions for those running booths and begin collecting final booth ideas.
If you do not yet have an idea of an experiment you would like to do for your booth, please begin
brainstorming by Thursday. We will go over booth examples from past years that may also spark
inspiration. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, and we hope to see you there!

Thank you,
Katherine Kricorian

Hello all,

This is a reminder to submit your booth ideas if you have not already! The Google Form (linked
here) closes at midnight this Friday (1/27), so if you are interested in volunteering or hosting a
booth, please fill it out ASAP. After the form closes, we will send out a spreadsheet with all
approved booths. We will have a final volunteer meeting next Thursday, February 2, at lunch
in Mrs. Hazlewood's room (401) to go over any final questions and instructions.

Linked here is a spreadsheet of most materials we have available to use for your booths. We will
be updating it soon with some more items. If you are interested in using any of our materials,
please let us and Mrs. Hazlewood know. If an item you need for your booth is not listed in our
reserves, you will be responsible for obtaining it. If this poses any challenge at all, feel free to
reach out to us and we will work something out together.

Additionally, the Water Balloon Drop (formerly the Egg Drop) is available to run. Students will
fill water balloons, attach popsicle sticks or other materials to them, and drop them from a ladder
to see which design resists force the best. Most of the Water Balloon Drop materials are in our
storage, so please let us know if you are interested in running this larger-scale outdoor booth.

If you participated in the science fair this week, you are welcome to use your project as a booth
at the STEAM Expo. If this applies to you, please fill out the Google Form listing your science
fair project as your booth idea.

We are excited to be in the final stretch! Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Katherine Kricorian

Hello all,

Thank you for signing up for the STEAM Expo & Health Fair! This Thursday (2/2), there will
be a check-in meeting at lunch in Mrs. Hazlewood's room (401) to go over setup times, final
instructions, and any questions about booths. Attached below is a spreadsheet of all booth and
volunteer signups for both the STEAM Expo and the Health Fair. Please look through all of the
different tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to confirm that your booth activity is correct. In
the next few days, we will send out a map of the MUR so you can check where your booth is
located.

For those who did not indicate a booth idea but signed up to run a booth, we have assigned
booths based on some of the materials we have available. Please let us know if this creates any
issue. We still have a few booths available to run, such as paper quilling and catapults.
Volunteers will be assigned to run these booths if there are still vacancies.

We have also attached the spreadsheet of materials that are available to use for your booths.
More items have been added since Wednesday, so please review it to see if any might be of use.
If you have questions regarding your booth, please email us or attend our meeting this Thursday.
You can also ask any questions during the setup day, which is this Friday after school (2:30 PM -
4:00 PM) in the SSHS MUR. All volunteers and booth runners should arrive at 8:30 AM on
Saturday 2/4 to begin setup and preparation for the event.

We're excited to be in the one-week countdown! We are here for you if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Katherine Kricorian

Hello all,

Thank you for coming to today's meeting! Attached below are the meeting slides in case you
missed anything. Please check all 3 tabs on the spreadsheet linked below to make sure you are
signed up for the correct booth and that your name is listed on the volunteer list if
applicable. We have assigned most volunteers to work on or support booths. If you don't see a
booth assigned next to your name on the volunteer list but would like to help with a particular
booth, please let us know. Volunteers not working on booths will be helping with directions,
selling concessions in the cafeteria window, handing out brochures, and selling T-shirts. Make
sure you are available if someone, such as a PTSA volunteer, needs any help.

Here is a brief overview of the event:

SETUP DAY (Tomorrow, February 3rd): Meet in the SSHS MUR at 2:35 PM (right after
school). We will be setting up tables inside and around the MUR, covering them with black
paper, and attaching signs to the front of each booth. We should end around or shortly after 4
PM.

EVENT DAY (Saturday, February 4th): Arrive at school around 8:30 AM. Everyone should
check in at the information table at the entrance of the MUR with PTSA. PTSA will have access
to the volunteer spreadsheet and should be marking your attendance. After you check in, PTSA
will give you a free STEAM Expo T-shirt---we encourage you to wear it during the event! If you
are seeking extra credit for your participation, there will be a Google Form at the
information booth to fill out.
From 8:30 - 10 AM, we will be setting up all booth materials and making sure everything is
ready to go. For groups whose events are outside of the MUR (such as SVUSD Robotics, HOSA,
and the Scavenger Hunt), please make sure to finalize your setup during this time.

Thank you all so much for your dedication and continued interest. This event could not be a
success without you, and we appreciate your help with making it the best STEAM Expo yet!
Feel free to email us with any questions.

Thank you,
Katherine Kricorian
