Leadership Experiences and Goals

I will curate a variety of reading assessments that teachers can use to assess students.
● GOAL: I will create a shared drive with a variety of reading assessments teachers can use with
instructional videos.
○ SHORT-TERM GOAL: Create the Google Drive with a variety of reading assessments
○ LONG-TERM GOAL: Have this Google Drive become a permanent resource shared
throughout our school.
○ RATIONALE: I will fulfill this by providing professional development on how to use these
assessments. (TLMD)
○ NBPTS: Proposition 5: Teachers are Members of Professional Communities
○ TLMD: Domain 3: Promotes Professional Learning for Continuous Improvement

I will help the Learning Coaches at my school with Reading and Literacy PDs by using my
knowledge of reading instruction.
GOAL: I will improve my school's reading scores.
○ SHORT-TERM GOAL: I will participate on the team that is in charge of picking the
curriculum for the next school year.
○ LONG-TERM GOAL: I will collaborate with the instructional coaches and teachers on
the fundamentals of phonics instruction and highlight best practices outlined in the
curriculum and offer suggestions as necessary.
○ RATIONAL: This would fulfill ensuring that teachers are well-versed in the subjects that
they teach (NBPTS)
○ NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those
subjects to students.
○ TLMD: Domain 7: Advocates for Student Learning and the Profession

I will become a resource at my school for reading and literary education.


● GOAL: I will be a resource for both teachers and families for reading instruction.
○ SHORT-TERM GOAL: I will host an additional learning lab to help students with
reading.
○ LONG-TERM GOAL: I will help our overall reading scores by assisting more students.
○ RATIONAL: I will monitor the progress of our school as a whole regarding reading
scores. (TLMD)
○ NBPTS: Proposition 3: Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student
learning.
○ TLMD: Domain 5: Promotes the Use of Assessments and Data for School and District
Improvement
