Tube feeding required longer then 3

weeks
Intervention:
 Minimize catabolism.
 Meet energy requirement, but not overfeed.
 Obtained 50% of total requirement should achieve initially Endoscopy possible
 Protein: 1.3-1.5 gm/kg body weight (depends on patient
condition).
 For non obese: 25-30 Kcal/kg body weight.
 For obese: 11-18Kcal/Kg body weight. Gastrostomy/ PEG tube
 Meet vitamins and mineral needs. Jejonostomy/open/
 Establish and maintain fluids and electrolytes balance.
 Plan nutrition therapy.

Continues evaluation and monitoring:

 Refeeding syndrome
 GI function tolerance
 Mental status
 Electrolyte balance
 Weight status
 Fluids requirement
