CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

Research Design
The study will use a correlational research design to examine the relationship
between social media use and academic performance. Data will be collected through a
self-administered questionnaire that will be distributed to a random sample of 200 senior
high school students atIlaya Barangka Integrated School. The questionnaire will include
questions about social media use, academic performance, and any potential confounding
variables.

Data Collection
The data collected from the questionnaire will be analyzed using descriptive
statistics and person's correlation analysis. The results will be used to determine the extent
of social media use and its relationship with academic performance, as well as any
potential factors that may influence this relationship.

Sampling Method
The researchers will use simple random sampling to obtain an adequate sample
size of the entire population of Senior High School Students in Ilaya Barangka Integrated
School.

Expected Results:
The results of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the
relationship between social media use and academic performance among senior high
school students at Ilaya Barangka Integrated School. The findings will be useful for
educators, parents, and policy-makers to understand the impact of social media use on
academic performance and to develop strategies to minimize its negative effects.

Conclusion:
This research proposal aims to examine the relationship between social media use
and Academic performance among senior high school students at Ilaya Barangka
Integrated School. The results of this study will provide valuable insights into the impact
of social media use on Academic performance and inform strategies to minimize its
negative effects. This study will Contribute to our understanding of the relationship
between social media use and academic performance and the potential implications for
students and society as a whole.
