0 Strategic Marketing Plan

2.1 Market Analysis

The pacing of customers need changes through time thus depends on the current
trending, or the comfort and satisfaction they received from a service or a product.
Analysing your competitors and satisfactory of your costumers is one of the Highlight of
business planning.

Through gathering data and researching our company come up an idea on how we
analyse our market the first process our company execute is distributing surveys that
determines the wants and needs of people from the location. After that we come up to a
unique theme that promotes our culture and gives serenity to students who wants to study
and learn Baybayin with a price of 500 pesos that contain 3 session of Baybayin
workshop and one free tablea so that the customer enjoys hot chocolate while doing
Baybayin. Second process our company distribute another survey that contains rating and
suggestion so that we will improve and understand the customer needs.

The good thing about the place is that there are no competitors with the same
theme as our company and the unique services that it offers. Moreover, the location is
close to the main road and there are school who are close by, it is a good location to put
up Artistique.

2.2.1. Political:
One of the factors that gives uncertainty to the workshop cafe is the Political
instability. The Decreasing of investors in the Philippines, greatly affects the business
industry. Furthermore, the current issue of Language problem is the dying identity of
Filipino language. Removing all the Filipino subjects and Replace Hangul or Korean
Language. This may affect Artistique for it focuses promoting traditional writing of
Filipino language such as Baybayin.
2.2.2 Economic:
In terms of economic factor, businesses around the area that offers drinks and foods
are the possible competitors of this company. Artistique is surrounded by several fast-
foods and cafes that people opt to choose which can affect the company's sales and
profits.

2.2.3 Social:
There are few workshop cafes in our country. But our cafe specifically focuses on our
country’s history and passing down the culture to the next generation. By the word of
mouth of the customers and the potential clients, they could influence and share their
experiences and opinions toward this kind of business.

2.2.4 Technological:
Technological factors are one of many external factors that can affect businesses. The
constant changes in technology is an opportunity, and threat as well. Internet is important
to the consumers and Artistique is a place with a Wi-Fi zone that could be access easy.
The consumers can surf the web and communicate to others while learning how to write
baybayin and calligraphy. However, it might be a negative consequence as it lessens
social interaction in the costumers. Also, Artistique will be using the social media to
increase its popularity. It will help the company in competing well in the market.
Technology hugely affects the way things are done, it could be positive or a negative
consequence.

2.2.5 Environmental:
The environment is such a big factor in the industry of service and workshop
businesses. Promoting eco-friendly products and materials is the main objective of
businesses in all industries. Thus, in art workshop services, synthetic and toxic materials
are being used. Another concern in the industry of art cafe business is the waste
management. Shifting towards turning the work and eating spaces of the customers, the
interiors and design of the establishments into a more sustainable way is being prioritizes
nowadays. Being minimalist in handling resources is another thing. Hospitality industry
itself is being proactive in waste management skills to promote the business and be on the
top of uprising competition on the industry.

Artistique ensure that it does not violate any laws and regulations in the country.
These includes all regulatory and laws that can negatively or positively affect the
company. These are the Consumer law that protects the interest of the consumers in the
Philippines, the Employment law that dictates how the company must treat their
employees, the Anti-Discrimination laws that should treat everyone equally regardless of
our differences in age, race, religion, gender, disability, etc. These laws and rules should
be followed to avoid punishments, charges and penalties from the government or
authorities that are implementing and enforcing them.

The customers we encouraged to participate in our workshop are the people who are
willing to learn about the background of the history of the Philippines including on how to
write using the traditional writing system that was used before by our ancestors, the
Baybayin. Also, for those people who wants to explore the other side of writing such as
learning on how to write in a creative and expressive manner such as Calligraphy writing.
Artistique welcomes all races, genders, and ages who wants to feed their curiosity with a
sense of knowledge and wisdom.

3.1 Consultation

The consultation serves as guide for the entrepreneurs to have a good start by
providing the resources necessary for success. In this company there are many things to
consider is plan your business; As an entrepreneur you need a clear plan for you to
become successful. You should know your initial cost and target market. Next form a
legal entity that is reliable and a right of independent business to have a deal or
agreement to sue or be sued and be held responsible for its action. Also, you need to
obtain permits and license, make sure before you open your business the papers such as
BIR and FDA and other permits are complete and legal. Open a business account and set
it up to have an organized and dedicated checking account for your business. Get
business insurance for a guarantee of compensation in case of damage of property.
Furthermore, you need to define your brand like what your company stands for, to stand
out from competitors the business must have a strong and unique brand. Lastly, establish

3.6 Production Line

Artistique offers native delicacies and thirst quenchers that originated from
different towns in the Philippines. The signature drink that the café serves are Tsokolate
Tablea and Kapeng Barako. The Tsokolate Tablea differs from other hot chocolates since
the company only uses Tablea which are made from raw and whole roasted cocoa beans
which makes the taste of it much stronger and authentic. The process of making
Tsokolate Tablea starts at adding tablets of Tablea which are made from dried local cocoa
beans and let it sit to a cup of boiling water. When the main ingredient starts to dissolve
in the boiling water, milk, sugar, and salt will be added to get a thick consistency as a
result. Meanwhile, Kapeng Barako is prepared by naturally brewing it from the coffee
maker and combining it with sugar. Thickened cream is added according to the
customers’ personal preference. Customers can order delicacies and drinks while
patiently waiting or performing a workshop in either Baybayin or painting. Painting has
some fundamentals and basic techniques are being taught at the first session of the
workshop. One of the lessons that the participants in the painting workshop will learn are
the proper stroke of painting, proper highlighting, shadings, and basic principles of
drawing. Another service that Artistique offers is Baybayin workshop which is the
traditional writing of the Filipinos during ancient times. The history, basics, and how to
write per letter in the Baybayin will be taught by the mentors. Furthermore, the company
also offers art materials which are available in the local store.

3.7 Production of Product

Artistique makes sure to serve good food, homey ambiance and great quality
service to the customers. The signature products our business are the workshops for
Baybayin, calligraphy and painting that will be conducted by our workshop mentors and
native delicacies and thirst quenchers that originated from different towns in the
Philippines featuring our signature drinks: Tsokalate Tablea and Kapeng Barako. The
materials we use for the workshops are eco-friendly and it is cruelty free. The ingredients
we use for our signature drinks freshly comes from Batangas and the the ingredients we
use to make the Filipino delicacies that are offered in our café are from organic markets
that is prepared by chefs and served by our waiters to our customers.

3.8 Operations Manual

Artistique’s day to day operations starts at 7am on wards for the cleaning and
setting up of the whole café. This is done by maintenance staffs hired by the café. The
inventory of goods and supplies are handled by the Service manager together with the
department managers also. On the other hand, the general manager is responsible with the
cash registry and other technical works in the counter. Upon accomplishing all the works,
the café workshop will open at 10 am. Furthermore, the security guard position him/her
self to the entrance so that him/her can assist people and guard the place from people who
have suspicious actions or robbery. While the workshop supervisor who are also the
mentor of workshop prepares and organized the needed art materials in the morning and
clean the materials so that the afternoon class can use the art materials. When the café
workshop is open, the kitchen staff will be arranged and set up the foods. They will be
the one who oversees preparing, arranging, cleaning of the foods and the equipment. The
cashier will be posted at the counter and take the orders of the customers. The clerk will
be posted at the information desk and help the customers with their questions about the
workshop. The café workshop will be closed at 10 pm. When the café workshop is
closed, the accounting will now audit the overall income that is acquired that day. The
maintenance staff will clean again the whole café workshop. Lastly, the General Manager
will check everything to make sure that everything is organized and report it to the CEO.
The CEO will now evaluate the day to day operation of the Café Workshop.

3.9 Location of Business establishment


The location of the establishment is located at Cordero St, Marulas McArthur,
Valenzuela city. 3rd floor of A building above the mercury drug store. Which is near the
China bank, the whole floor is measured exactly 300 sqm wide. The entrepreneurs chose
the location because it is near the main road and other industrial places, another thing is
that it is near the school vicinity of Our Lady of Fatima University since one of the target
markets of the workshop café are the students. The location is very ideal for the
workshop café.

3.10 Establishment Layout:

This layout maximizes the space of the chosen place of our business. The layout
is composed of the info desk, waiting area or lounge, workshop rooms, bookworms’
nook, café area (includes the kitchen, cashier and coffee bar island), comfort room and
mini art gallery where the artworks of the customers are displayed. The area is spacious,
and it has a homey ambiance.
3.11 Waste Disposal management

Artistique's waste will be dispose in north Caloocan city dump site. The scheduled
pick up of garbage is on Monday and. Every Monday, the biodegradable garbage will be
collected and every Wednesday, the non-biodegradable garbage will be collected from
plastic and cardboard recycling to food scrap disposal and more is a must to achieve
organized and clean surroundings.
3.11.1 Food Scraps
Food scraps create the bulk of waste that is created by an average
restaurant or cafe. Some different types of food scraps include excess bits
produce, uneaten food, or expired products. It must be properly disposed to keep
the café sanitized.
3.11.2 Paper Supplies
Artistique create large amounts of paper waste on a day to day basis. Some
source of paper supply waste includes used of canvas paper, paper towels,
beverage containers, napkins, and bags. Paper that has not been contaminated
with food can be recycled. However, paper that has traces of food or drink will
need to be thrown away. The used front and back canvas paper must be shredded
after.
3.11.3 Plastic Waste
In management of plastic waste, Artistique work shop café decided to
reduce the use of plastic by minimizing the use of plastic packaging, dispensing
drinks with plastic straws, replace disposable utensils with reusable like wooden
utensils and such. Furthermore, implementing plastic waste management will be
beneficial especially to our environment.

4.1 Introduction of Business Ownership
Artistique is a corporate company and its ownership is divided into shareholders. it is
essentially creating and operated with the permission of the state where the company is
incorporated. owners can sell the shares to investors. Artistique protects the owners by absorbing
the liability if something goes wrong. When debt is incurred in the company name, owners are
not personally liable, and their assets cannot be taken to settle company obligations.

4.3 Job Description and Job Requirements

4.3.1 CEO

The Chief Executive Officer oversees developing high quality business


strategies and plans, ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term
objectives, creating and implementing the company or organization's vision and
mission.

4.3.2 General Manager

The General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy,


managing people and establishing policies. The General Manager is also involve
in leading and directing employees. plan and promote the daily schedule of
employees and the business,

4.3.3 Administrative and Finance Department Director

The Administrative and financial management include ongoing accounting


administration, budgeting, taxation, duties, writing financial reports, and
providing money for projects: Our financial administration staff are responsible
for the overall fiscal management, accounting, and financial reporting for the
Department.
4.3.3.1 Human Resources

Human resources specialists are responsible for recruiting,


screening, interviewing and placing workers. They may also handle
employee relations, payroll, benefits, and training. Human resources
managers plan, direct and coordinate the administrative functions of an
organization. To become an HR manager, you would need at least a
bachelor's degree, need one year of experience, must be 23 years of age
but not more than 50 years of age.

4.3.3.2 Payroll Administrator

A payroll administrator’s job duties generally involve issuing and


distributing paychecks, managing direct deposits, benefits withholding,
payroll deductions, issuing bonuses, collecting timekeeping information to
employees. To become a Payroll Administrator, one must be a degree
holder, with experience, must be 23 years of age but not more than 50
years of age.

4.3.3.3 Maintenance / Facilities

A Maintenance is the one who’s in charge of aiding staff, visitors


and other employees as necessary. They also repair workers, fix and
maintain mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines. Tasks include
plumbing work, painting, flooring repair, electrical repairs and heating and
air conditioning system maintenance. The requirements are must be a
college graduate, with at least one year of experience, must be 23 years of
age but not more than 50 years of age.

4.3.3.4 Accounting

Summarizes current financial status by collecting information;


preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintains
accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and
procedures. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting
options. The requirements are must be a college graduate, with experience,
at least 23 years of age but not more than 50 years of age.

4.3.4 Operations Manager

It is the responsibility of the Operation manager to ensure the daily


functioning of the employees. He or she is the one who oversees employees and
the facilities they work for. The manager must evaluate data and employee
performance. Also, the job is to plan and promote the daily schedule of employees
and the business, interview, hire, and coordinate employees, create and maintain
budgets, and coordinate with and report to the owner. The requirements must be
college graduate in any course that is connected to business, must be 23 years of
age but not more than fifty (50) years old, with experience, excellent
communication skills, problem-solving ability, ability to direct people,
approachable, patient, and time management skills.

4.3.4.1 Café supervisor

A Café Manager oversees daily operations of a café, which sells


food and drinks to customers. From planning menus and working with
vendors to training employees and managing budgets, this individual is
responsible for all aspects of running the business. The requirements must
be 23 years old but not over 50 years of age, at least college graduate, with
experience, communication skills, approachable, and good personalities.

4.3.4.1.1 Foods and Beverages Attendants

Serve food and beverages to customers at the cafe. Clean


the tables and the whole place every closing time. They must
provide excellent wait service to the costumers and ensure that
they are enjoying their meals. Communicate with customers to
resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction. The requirements are
must be 18 years old but not more than fifty (50) years old, at least
Highschool Graduate, with or without experience, approachable,
physically fit, interested in Filipino History and self-motivated.

4.3.4.1.2 Cashier

Take accurate customers' orders in short time. They must


take money in the form of cash, credit card, or check and issue
receipts, refunds, and credits. Count money in cash drawers at the
beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there
is adequate change. Answer customers' questions and get a
manager if answer doesn't solve the issue. The requirements must
be 18 years old but not more than fifty (50) years old, at least
Highschool Graduate, with experience, approachable, patient,
trustworthy, excellent communication skills, excellent computing
skills, physically fit, and self-motivated.

4.3.4.1.3 Security Personnel / Guard

Secures premises and observing the whole place. Monitor


and authorize the customers and employees. Write reports of daily
activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage,
theft, or unusual occurrences. The requirements must be 21 years
of age but not more than fifty (50) years old, at least Highschool
graduate, has undergone pre-licensing training course, physically
and mentally fit, must be trustworthy, patient, approachable, and
must has good verbal and written communication skills.

4.3.4.2 Workshop supervisor

The workshop supervisor oversees daily operations of the


workshop. He / She must ensure that the needed supplies are enough every
day. He / She must also ensure the smooth progression of projects through
the workshop. The requirements must be 23 years old and above, graduate
of any art courses in college, with experience, communication skills, and
approachable.
4.3.4.2.1 Workshop Mentor

Workshop Mentor must provide support in the knowledge


and delivery of effective instruction. He / She must guide the
participating people for them to create art, teach the students the
right way of writing baybayin and calligraphy. The requirements
must be 23 years old and above, graduate of any art courses in
college, with experience, excellent communication skills, patient,
approachable, and good personalities.

4.3.4.2.1 Clerk

The clerk must aid the needs of the customers. He/ She
must answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer
doesn't solve the issue. The requirements must be 18 years old but
not more than fifty (50) years old, at least Highschool Graduate,
with experience, approachable, patient, trustworthy, excellent
communication skills, excellent computing skills, physically fit,
and self-motivated

4.3.5 Sales and Marketing Director

A Marketing and Sales Manager manages the marketing strategy,


advertising, promoting and sales of the company. He/ She must accomplish
marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and
evaluating advertising, merchandising, creating promos, etc. Sales managers work
with large profile customers or with customer complaints, analyze budgets, and
determine ways to streamline and improve the sales process. The requirements
must be college graduate in any course that is connected to business, must be 23
years of age but not more than fifty (50) years old, with experience, excellent
communication skills, problem-solving ability, ability to direct people,
approachable, patient, and time management skills.

4.4 Business and Employee weekly schedule


Artistique is open at 10 am to 10pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Artistique is
close on Mondays to give the employees the break they deserve. There will be 2
employee shifts namely the A.M shift and P.M shift. The A.M shift will start at 10
am to 4 pm and the P.M shift will start at 4 pm to 10 pm

provide general guidelines about Artistique policies and procedures for employees.  It is a
guide to assist you in becoming familiar with some of the privileges and obligations of
your employment, including Artistiqueʹs policy of voluntary at‐will employment.   None
of the policies or guidelines in the Handbook are intended to give rise to contractual
rights or obligations, or to be construed as a guarantee of employment for any specific
period of time, or any specific type of work.  Additionally, with the exception of the
voluntary at‐will employment policy, these guidelines are subject to modification,
amendment or revocation by Artistique at any time, without advance notice.

4.5.2 Core Values

The corporation of Artistique believes in instilling the values patriotism,


compassion, commitment and integrity among all their employees and their valuable
customers. Being patriotic one’s work is an ingredient on building oneself value.
Compassion and commitment are the essential values in creating strong relationship with
co-employees and pleasant work environment. The building the value of integrity among
personnel is the embodiment of the company’s image and reputation.

4.5.3 Equal Employment Opportunity

Artistique shall follow the spirit and intent of all federal, state and local
employment law and is committed to equal employment opportunity.  To that end, the
Board of Directors and Executive Director of Artistique will not discriminate against any
employee or applicant in a manner that violates the law.   is committed to providing equal
opportunity for all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion,
national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, political affiliation,
personal appearance, family responsibilities, matriculation or any other characteristic
protected under federal, state or local law. All employees under Artistique’s company
shall follow the equal employment law, no exemption.

4.5.4 Policy Against Workplace Harassment

Artistique is committed to providing a work environment for all employees that


is free from sexual harassment and other types of discriminatory harassment.   Employees
are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and to show respect for their
co‐workers.  Artistique commitment begins with the recognition and acknowledgment
that sexual harassment and other types of discriminatory harassment are, of course,
unlawful.  To reinforce this commitment Artistique has developed a policy against
harassment and a reporting procedure for employees who have been subjected to or
witnessed harassment.  This policy applies to all work‐related settings and activities,
whether inside or outside the workplace, and includes business trips and business ‐related
social events. Artistique’s property (e.g. telephones, copy machines, facsimile machines,
computers, and computer applications such as e ‐mail and Internet access) may not be
used to engage in conduct that violates this policy.  Artistique’s policy against
harassment covers employees and other individuals who have a relationship with
Artistique which enables Artistique to exercise some control over the individual’s
conduct in places and activities that relate to Artistique’s work (e.g. directors, officers,
contractors, vendors, volunteers, etc.).   

4.5.5 Solicitation

Employees are prohibited from soliciting (personally or via electronic mail) for
membership, pledges, subscriptions, the collection of money or for any other
unauthorized purpose anywhere on Artistique property during work time, especially those
of a partisan or political nature.  “Work time” includes time spent in actual performance
of job duties but does not include lunch periods or breaks.  Non‐working employees may
not solicit or distribute to working employees.  Persons who are not employed by
Artistique may not solicit or distribute literature on Artistique’s premises at any time for
any reason.

4.5.6 Hours Of Work, Attendance And Punctuality

4.5.6.1 Hours of Work


The normal work week for Artistique workshop café shall consist of five
(5), seven (7) hour days.  Ordinarily, work hours are from 9:00 a.m. ‐ 5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, including one hour (unpaid) for lunch.  Employees may
request the opportunity to vary their work schedules (within employer ‐defined
limits) to better accommodate personal responsibilities.  Subject to Artistique
work assignments and Executive Director approval, the employee’s supervisor
shall determine the hours of employment that best suits the needs of the work to
be done by the individual employee.

4.5.6.2 Attendance and Punctuality Attendance

Attendance is a key factor in your job performance.  Punctuality and


regular attendance are the basic requirements for the employees to
comply.  Excessive absences (whether excused or unexcused), tardiness or
leaving early is considered incompetence at work.  If you are absent for any
reason or plan to arrive late or leave early, you must notify your supervisor and
the office manager in advance as possible and no later than one hour before the
start of your scheduled work day.  In the event of an emergency, you must notify
your supervisor as soon as possible. 

4.5.7 Insurance  

4.5.7.1 Health/Life Insurance

Artistique currently provides individual health and dental insurance


benefits for eligible full‐time and part‐time employees except those who are
insured through their spouse, retired military, or other plans, beginning after the
first full month of employment. Eligible employees may elect to participate in
available health plan(s) offered by Artistique.  The company presently pays the
individual insurance premium for all eligible employees.  Artistique may require
employees to pay a portion of insurance premium in the future.  Information
about Artistiqueʹs health plan(s) will be provided to the employee at the time of
employment.

4.5.7.2 Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid

Artistique participates in the provisions of the Social Security, Medicare


and Medicaid programs.  Employees’ contributions are deducted from each
paycheck and Artistique contributes at the applicable wage base as established by
federal law.

4.5.7.3 Retirement Plan

Artistique provides a retirement program for eligible full ‐time and part ‐
time employees who are 21 years of age or older.  Artistique contributes to the
employee’s retirement plan when employee becomes vested after one year of
employment.  Eligible employees may contribute to retirement plan at start of
employment.   Employer percentage contributions to the retirement program is
reviewed and determined

4.5.8 Paid Absences/Leave

4.5.8.1 Sick Leave

Sick leave benefits are earned on a prorated basis of one day (7 hours)
per month for full‐time employees beginning at first day of employment.   Part‐
time employees receive prorated sick leave benefits, (i.e., 3.5 hours per month if
the Employee works 17.5 hours per week). Temporary employees are not eligible
for paid sick leave benefits.  Use of sick leave is subject to approval by the
supervisor and the Executive Director and must be requested in hourly
increments.   

4.5.8.2 Personal Leave

Artistique provides three (3) days of personal leave per calendar year to
all Full‐Time and Part‐Time employees who have completed six months of
employment.   Personal leave benefits are prorated accordingly for part ‐time
employees.  Temporary employees are not eligible for paid personal leave
benefits.   Personal leave is accrued at the beginning of each year and cannot be
carried into the next year.  Personal leave may not be taken in the first six (6)
months of employment.  All personal leave is subject to prior approval by the
supervisor and Executive Director and must be requested in hourly
increments.  No personal leave benefits are paid upon separation from
employment with Artistique for any reason.

   4.5.8.3 Extended Personal Leave


Employees who have been employed by Artistique for at least one year
may apply for personal leaves of absence for up to eight weeks.  Personal leaves
are unpaid and are discretionary with the management of Artistique When
considering a request for a personal leave, Artistique will consider factors such as
the employee’s position, the employee’s length of service, the employee’s
performance record including attendance, the purpose of the leave, the needs of
the department in which the employee works, the effect of the leave on other
employees, and Artistique’s general business needs. Personal leaves generally are
unpaid. 

4.5.9 Review of Personnel Action

Employees may request a review of a personnel action or an


unsatisfactory performance review.  Employees are expected first to discuss their
concern with their immediate supervisor.   If further discussion is desired, the
employee may then discuss the situation with the Executive Director.  The
decision of the Executive Director is final.

4.5.10 Personnel Records

Personnel records are the property of Artistique, and access to the


information they contain is restricted and confidential.  A personnel file shall be
kept for each employee and should include the employee’s job application, copy
of the letter of employment and position description, performance reviews,
disciplinary records, records of salary increases and any other relevant personnel
information.  It is the responsibility of each employee to promptly notify his/ or
her supervisor in writing of any changes in personnel data, including personal
mailing addresses, telephone numbers, names of dependents, and individuals to
be contacted in the event of an emergency.
