CALL TO ORDER
Good morning, ladies and Gentlemen. May I have your attention please. We are about to begin our
Dinner Reception so please locate your respective seats and make yourself comfortable.
WELCOME ADDRESS
A very sweet and lovely day to everyone, welcome to VANESSA and CHRISTIAN KENTS’ Wedding
Reception. We are done with the solemn part of the celebration and we thank those people who were
with us earlier a @ SAINT LAWRENCE THE DEACON PARISH CHRUCH especially FR. JOSE
RONNIE BANAS for officiating the wedding ceremony. And for those who just joined in, Welcome to
the reception of our newlyweds in celebration of the beginning of their new life together, so sit down,
relax and enjoy.
We are Mark & Wella, Vanessas’ friends and we will be your emcee for this very special day for the
newlyweds. We thank you all for gracing this joyful occasion especially to those who have traveled
many miles just to be with us. In behalf of VAN and KEN and their parents, we would like to express
their heartfelt gratitude for your presence to this memorable occasion. It is indeed a pleasure to have
you all today.

Today calls for a grand celebration and it is my pleasure to introduce to you for the very first time
KENT & VAN as husband and wife. So, without any further ado, let us all rise and give our warmest
welcome to MR. & MRS. CHRISTIAN KENT & VANESSA DEGONES.
CONGRATULATIONS! KEN AND VAN, and best wishes to the both of you. We wish you to be
blessed with a long and happy life together.
Thank you so much everyone. Please be seated now. Truly, this event will be a celebration of love, a
feast of two hearts who vowed to stay forever no matter what.
OPENING PRAYER
To officially start, let us all stand for the opening prayer to be led by MRS. ANTWANA ZABALA.
Father, you have made the bond of marriage a holy mystery,
a symbol of Christ's love for his Church.
Hear our prayers for Ken and Van.
With faith in you and in each other they pledge their love today.
 May their lives always bear witness to the reality of that love.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Pictorial / Buffet Dinner

Well I guess the food is now ready and dinner will commence shortly. At this point to maintain order,
I’ll be calling your table number/names and the people from that table will be going to the location of
the couple for pictorial. Right after that they can now proceed and line up at the buffet counter to get
their dinner. (get the personalities in each table)

In behalf of the newlyweds, I would like to say thank you to the grooms’ family, the DEGONES
FAMILY and the brides’ family, the GARDOCE FAMILY for the wonderful accommodation, service
and sumptuous foods that they are providing us here. The newlyweds would also like to say a special
thank you to FJ MINI SOUND, MR. RODEL BACALING & MR. JONIFER OCANTE for
supervising in the physical arrangement of our reception and of course a word of thanks also to our
photographer Mr. Bryan Bialen & asst. photographer Ms. Christine Joy Pionelo, who gets the perfect
snapshots for our couple and our poses.
WEDDING TRADITIONS
Traditions of different cultures from generation to generation have told us varied observance of
wedding rites. But what makes the essence of this celebration meaningful is the fact that the “Facets of
Love” underscores the lives of the couple.
This time ladies and gentlemen, let us witness some of these practices which are being observed in
every wedding ceremony.
FIRST DANCE OF THE COUPLE
The couple may have danced too much and savored those dances, but what makes their dance today
special and different… is of course as new husband and wife, they share with love and passion being
fascinated with joy as they swing their spirits together. I believe… what makes it more wonderful is
when it is danced out of love and joy.
Ladies and Gentlemen, WE present to you CHRISTIAN KENT & VANESSA for their first dance!
As the newlyweds, KEN & VAN are dancing for their first dance, may WE invite everyone to wish
them both a prosperous life and for the prosperity of our newlyweds, lets go now to the pinning of
graces (money). (ask for the help of best man & maid of honor)
WINE TOAST
This time, let’s fill our glasses with any drink that we could get and join the BRIDE AND GROOM,
for the symbolic wine toast.
I would like to request the best man MR. LORENO OCANTE to please pour the wine in to the glasses
of the newlyweds.

SLICING OF THE WEDDING CAKE
At this point, I hope every one’s attention is in the couple as they do the cake cutting tradition.
The cake cutting symbolizes the couple's unity, their shared future, and their life together as one.
At the count of three you may slice your cake… 1..2..3.. Please give each other a few mouthfuls of
cake.
BOUQUET CEREMONY
Now all the single ladies please come on down. Let’s do the bouquet game! Indi ini ang traditional nga
flower toss, kaya mas exciting. (explain the mechanics) ang remaining girl ng indi makasawo sa
bouquet sya ang lucky girl nga maging next bride to be.
GARTER GAME
Let’s call on this time all the gentlemen! Sige po kadto kamo d sa unahan. Now, I have here, bottles of
beer. Masukat tagd kung sino ang palainom. Paunahan kamo maubos o ma-consume ang mga beer
ninyo. Take note kun sino ang ulihi makaubos or gamay lng ang nainom nga beer. Sya or ikaw ang
aton nga maswerte ng soltero subong nga adlaw. One, two, three. Ok, sino unang naubos. Palakpakan.
Sino ang gamay lang ang nainom/naconsume? Ikaw, ang maswerte! good boy!

GARTER RETRIEVAL
Before we go on with the Garter Toss, the groom is to retrieve the garter from his bride. So, may we
request KEN and VAN to please come to center and do the garter retrieval ritual. Thanks guys.
(A chair is brought onstage for the bride to sit. while groom kneels down at the bride's feet ready to
retrieve the garter)
Ladies and gentleman the groom will now retrieve the garter from the bride.
(Groom retrieves the garter from the bride.)
There you have it ladies and gentlemen; the groom has finally able to retrieve the garter. Let us give
him a big hand.
PUTTING THE GARTER ON THE LADY’S LEG
Alright, let’s have the pair here. Ask for their names first. Lady, kindly take your seat. Gentleman, you
are now going to put the garter on her legs.

The program and this reception have almost come to an end but for our newlyweds it is just a start of
their new life together. As we each go home, may this day be memorable for all of us as it is to them.
To personally convey their heartfelt gratitude let us now lend our ears to KEN and VAN.
