FAQ's On E-Aadhaar
The difference between Aadhaar card and E-Aadhaar is that the former is a hardcopy
and the latter is a soft copy which can be saved on your phone. Aadhaar card is
sent by post, whereas the E-Aadhaar can be downloaded on UIDAI portal.
However, in case if your Aadhaar card is updated only with year of birth (YYYY)
instead of complete Date Of Birth details (DOB) (DD/MM/YYYY) i.e., if DOB on
Aadhaar card is shown as ‘1995’ instead of ‘15/03/1995’, we suggest you submit
the E-Aadhaar copy, as the E-Aadhaar copy will reflect the complete DOB details.
Below mentioned are the steps to download E-Aadhaar from UIDAI portal
Step 2: Enter your details such as: Aadhaar number, Full name, Pin code of your
residential address and Captcha image.
Step 3: Click on Get One Time Password button to get OTP on registered mobile.
Step 6: Enter the password and click on submit to open the e-Aadhaar card.
Note: You cannot download the E-Aadhaar in case your phone number is not linked
with Aadhaar, hence request you to get your phone number linked with Aadhaar for
downloading E-Aadhaar copy.
In case you have not received your Aadhaar card yet or have forgotten your
Aadhaar number, you can still download your e-Aadhaar by entering the Aadhaar
Enrolment Number (EID).
Below are the steps to download your e-Aadhaar card through enrolment number:
Step 3: Enter your 14-digit enrolment ID number and 14-digit time and date values
Step 4: Enter your full name, pin code, image captcha code
Step 6: You will receive the OTP on your registered mobile number
Note: You cannot download the E-Aadhaar in case if your phone number is not
linked with Aadhaar, hence request you to get your phone number linked with
Aadhaar for downloading E-Aadhaar copy.
The PDF format of E-Aadhaar Card is password protected for security reasons. Your
password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of name in CAPITAL and the
year of birth (YYYY).
