Glossary of terms/words:
Adjudication – settlement of disputes
Conclusive Presumption – Law directs that the courts shall presume certain facts, on proof
of some other facts. Such presumptions are irrebuttable, that is, it cannot be disproved by
evidence.
Extradition – The formal process by which of one state surrenders an individual to another
state for prosecution or punishment for crimes committed in the requesting country's
jurisdiction. States usually extradite when there is an extradition treaty between them.
Judicial process – The process by which judges decide cases
Ubi societas, ibi jus: A latin maxim which means, “Wherever there is a society, there is law”
Rebuttable presumption – Law directs the court to presume existence of certain facts.
However, this can be disproved by the other party by adducing evidence to the contrary.
