Diagnosis:

It's not right to say just mania. Instead you'd either say Acute manic episode or Bipolar Affective
Disorder current manic episode with or without psychotic symptoms.

Olanzapine is usually given to patients to help them to sleep. It is an atypical antipsychotic but also has a
large sedative effect.

For patients with Hypertension or diabetes, you’ll give Risperidone instead of Olanzapine.

In women of Childbearing age don't give Sodium valproate or Carbamazepine.

Lithium is not a first line stabilizer. Usually ECG and TFT have to be done before Lithium is administered.

Electro Convulsive Therapy is usually indicated in BPD in a pregnant woman or in Post-Partum

Depression

Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) is a syndrome of gait dysfunction and enlarged cerebral ventricles
in the absence of another cause. It is frequently accompanied by frontal and subcortical cognitive
deficits and bladder detrusor overactivity. NPH is rare relative to other potential causes of these
symptoms in the elderly, but timely diagnosis can lead to reversal of symptoms through ventricular
shunting.
