Armed Forces

- The Armed Forces of the Philippines are the military forces of the Philippines. It
consists of three main service branches; the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy.
The AFP is responsible for upholding the sovereignty, supporting the
Constitution, and defending the territory of the Republic of the Philippines against all enemies foreign
and domestic; advancing the national aims, interest and policies; and planning the organization,
maintenance, development, and deployment of its regular and citizen armed force for National Security.
During tragedy and pandemic they are stationed to help the LGU's securing their cities to ensure that no
cross contamination will happen, they are mostly assigned in checkpoints to check what's coming in and
coming out. They also help people in disaster by bringing relief to the citizens.

Department of Health

- The Department of Health (DOH) holds the over-all technical authority on health as
it is a national health policy-maker and regulatory institution.Basically, the DOH
has three major roles in the health sector: (1) leadership in health; (2) enabler and
capacity builder; and (3) administrator of specific services. Its mandate is to
develop national plans, technical standards, and guidelines on health. Aside from being the regulator of
all health services and products, the DOH is the provider of special tertiary health care services and
technical assistance to health providers and stakeholders. Their mission is to lead the country in the
development of a productive, resilient, equitable and people-centered health system. The primary
function of the Department is the promotion, protection, preservation or restoration of the health of the
people through the provision and delivery of health services and through the regulation and
encouragement of providers of health goods and services.

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council


(NDRRMC)

- The NDRRMC plans and leads the guiding activities in the field of communication, warning signals,
emergency, transportation, evacuation, rescue, engineering, health and rehabilitation, public education
and auxiliary services such as fire fighting and the police in the country. They protect the citizen by
providing warnings to be prepared for the upcoming tragedy, they help to evacuate them if needed.
They response to the emergency in the LGU's. Disaster Risk Management in the Republic of Mauritius is
working towards the goal of a secure, healthy, wealthy and resilient nation. It encompasses a holistic
vision of the key elements of disaster management: from risk assessment, disaster risk reduction, early
warning and emergency alerts, to preparedness, response, relief, recovery and rehabilitation. Their
mission is to increase the country’s resilience to disasters, reducing loss of life and negative impacts on
economic, social, physical and environmental assets caused by natural and human-induced disasters
through strategic commitment and engagement of all levels of society in understanding and managing
identified threats.

Disaster Management Services

- Disaster Management Services (DMS) is one of the major services of the


Philippine Red Cross, primarily tasked to deliver humanitarian assistance during
emergency and disaster situations. Through its wide network of well-trained,
skilled, and committed staff and volunteers across the country, the DMS implements its mandate
through an integrated holistic approach to save lives, minimize human suffering, and to reduce losses
and damages.Apart from emergency and disaster situations, DMS has a significant role to build the
capacity of communities to minimize the risks, and to immediately cope and recover after the impact of
disasters. Disaster Risk Reduction;Contributes to the development of safe and resilient communities,
schools, and workplaces through RC143 in order to capacitate them to prepare, respond, and recover
from any emergency situation. Disaster Preparedness; Strengthens the preparedness capacity of the PRC
(both the NHQ and Chapters) for timely and effective response. Disaster Response; Provides appropriate
humanitarian services in the areas of rescue, relief, health, welfare, and emergency shelter to the most
vulnerable groups among the total affected population. Disaster Recovery;Involves the provision,
restoration and improvement of shelter, livelihood, and basic community facilities, to improve living
conditions and reduce disaster risk, supporting long-term approaches of building back better and safer.

Local Government

- In the Philippines, local government is divided into three levels: provinces and independent cities,
component cities and municipalities, and barangays, all of which are collectively known as local
government units (LGUs). Local Government is the nearest to the citizen. They have mission for
peaceful, safe, self-reliant and development-dominated communities; Improve performance of local
governments in governance, administration, social and economic development and environmental
management; Sustain peace and order condition and ensure public safety. LGUs play a major role in a
community's development, provide the links between the people and government, address its
community's problems and concerns, enforce policies and hold influence over its communities. LGUs are
mandated to promote public health and safety, enhance people's right to a balanced ecology, economic
prosperity and social justice, promote full employment among the residents, maintain peace and order
and preserve the comfort and convenience for the people.
