AT2 Position Paper Writing (Final Draft)

1. Complete the parts of your position paper. (1 introduction paragraph, 1 counterargument paragraph, 3
body paragraphs – 1 paragraph for each argument you listed in the outline, 1 concluding paragraph)
2. Check your position and revise as needed.
Who is/are your intended reader/s?
Is the purpose of your position paper to convince your target audience to take a course of action?
Does your paper have a thesis statement?
Does the thesis state your side/position on the issue?
Does it state or imply the target readers of the paper?
Did you list three arguments in the body?
Do they all support the thesis?
Are they all addressed to your target audience?
Did you explain each claim?
Did you provide evidence to support your claims.
Did you follow the elements of good writing: unity, coherence, concision, clarity…)
Is it written in formal style?
Did you use the required font color for some parts of the paper?
Does the paper follow APA formatting and citation?
3. Submit the final draft of your position paper.
