The increase is based on the amount of expenditures the Attomey’s General Office has actually paid for the first half of the fiscal year. LEGAL FOR PUBLIC HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT: The bill includes an increase of $190,332 reappropriated funds that originate from the Department of Public Health and Environment and 1.0 FTE to account for changing workload demands at the Department of Public Health and Environment. Programmatic areas experiencing increased legal services costs include: Litigation related to Tile V air permit issuance, oil and gas site permit issuance, meeting demands of environmental justice, and overhauling the complaint, investigation, and information systems processes. ‘LEGAL FOR EDUCATION FREE SCHOOL LUNCH: The bill includes an increase of $14,786 reappropriated funds that originate from the Department of Education and 0.1 FTE to provide legal services to the Department of Education ‘on issues related to implementation of Free School Lunch as approved by voters passing Proposition FP. TRANSITION TO OIT REAL-TIME BILLING: The bill includes a decrease of $4,898 total funds, including $1,176 General Fund, to the line item that funds information technology services provided by the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OI). Appropriations made to the Payments to OIT line item provide greater transparency on the total statewide information technology costs because historically OIT has relied on interagency agreements when customers required support beyond their common policy appropriation or when new services must be offered Supplemental Budget Package 34 February 6, 2023
