Process Paper

We chose tourism because of how relevant it is today for our island. It contributed so

much to our economy, that without it, Guam would still be under more military support than it is

now. The tourism industry suits the the theme of “Frontiers in History,” because it demonstrates

how Guam was before and after the tourism development.

We conducted our research using online sources. We used Guampedia as our main source

for our project, which gave us insights into how Guam’s tourism industry was. We also used

some sourecs from the Guam Visitor Bureau to analyze certain statistics for tourism.

We created our projected using a website builder. We used the data from the sources an

dcompiled them together to formulate a website. We tried to highlight the significant events that

happened during the Tourism industry.

The historical argument is that Guam’s tourism industry has influenced it’s economy. It

lead to job creation. It also lead to visitors spending more money on Guam through shopping,

and overall contributing to the creation of a new economy.

The topic of Guam’s tourism industry is significant in history because it had a significant

impact on the island and its people. With the growth and expansion of the industry, the local

economy has become more diverse, creating new opportunities for economic development. It

gave opportunities to the people. Furthermore, tourism has played a crucial role in preserving

and promoting Guam's unique culture and traditions, which are major attractions for visitors. In
summary, Guam's tourism business has experienced substantial growth over the years and is

expected to continue expanding in the future.
