SOP FOR YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAMME

NAME- TANISHQA JOGANI

ROLL NUMBER- 21F160

Finance as a field has always fascinated me. It offers a chance to be exposed to a panorama of
business models across industries and markets. I believe that my penchant for this field stems
from the fact that finance runs in my family. I come from a business background and
numbers intrigue me since childhood.. This eventually persuaded me to take up finance as my
major in Christ University, Bengaluru. I even took part in Certificate courses related to Stock
Market Trading in the 2nd year of my college. Following new deal announcements, news and
related content about the flabbergasting financial world became my favourite pastime. I chose
finance as a major in my post-graduation at T.A Pai Management Institute, acknowledging
my healthy interest in subjects falling under the financial domain and having a strong hold on
my subjects like Financial Management, Financial Accounting and Economics.

My career ambition is to become an Investment Banker, with a long term ambition of being
an Executive director. In order to achieve my objective, I want to acquire the advanced
knowledge necessary for merger and acquisitions, corporate finance and sources of finance. I
find the profession of an Investment Banker to be fascinating. To be a maverick in this field,
demands a practitioner to be logical, enumerative, and highly aware of human biases. I look
at this career as a logical extension of my passion that will provide me with an opportunity to
develop my investment acumen and a strong foundation in finance.

I think one of my most distinguishing characteristics is the diversity of experiences I

possess. I have had work experience in various fields from marketing to insurance. As a
high school student, I have always liked myself doing something or other. As a result of
which I was always a part of many clubs, participated in table tennis, skating and
synthesizer competitions. This urge of mine continued in college as a result of which I
have been part of various committees like Lime as a Designer and Samnidhy as a
marketing associate. On an intellectual level, I found it to be really stimulating and
fascinating. I secured my name in the Topper’s List with an average of 7.54 CGPA at
TAPMI. Accustomed to working in a dynamic environment, I discovered my skills as a team-
player while holding a strong individualistic attitude. I am a person with strong analytical,
communication, and leadership skills and a continuous zeal to learn. I possess a creative
outlook towards my work along with analytical capabilities for problem solving. I am a very
self-motivated person, and I do not hesitate in picking up tough problems, and learning on the
job.

I have always believed that being privileged comes with the opportunity of making the most
out of it. I have travelled extensively and it has made me realize that we’re all a small
blip in the world and there are millions of other people with similar competencies, with
the right knowledge and wisdom and herein, I wish to break the circle of mediocrity. I
have longed wished to come out of the shadow of a glamorous background to establish
my individuality by proving myself in the corporate world. I believe Young leaders
Programme will equip me with the necessary skills like leadership, self- development,
etc. that I need, to keep a strong stand in the corporate world. I am looking forward to
work with influential C-suite business leaders and increase my learning dimensions.
This program will help me become a global value leader and is the perfect place to put
my next foot forward in my professional life.
