INTRODUCTION

Sweets are enjoyed by almost everyone. To satisfy our own sweet tooth, we often give in to our

desires. From pastries to sweets to chocolates, there are a variety of sugar-filled products that can help.

The average Filipino consumes a customary snack after every meal and during mirienda time (break),

which is typically a sweet delicacy. Desserts such as yema are a special treat at the conclusion of a

dinner that exudes elegance and extravagance. It's a small amount of self-indulgence that makes us

happy. Unfortunately, most sweets contain a lot of sugar or other components that are known to be

unhealthy. Because having a sweet craving puts you at a high risk of developing diabetes, that happy

feeling swiftly turns into guilt.

So the researchers came up to this product entitled A Proposed Orange Yema for People With

Sweet Tooth to make a healthy sweet by combining the extract of orange to the ingredients of yema. A

daily orange could help you seem younger. Oranges are high in Vitamin B6, which aids in the synthesis of

haemoglobin and, thanks to the presence of magnesium, helps to maintain blood pressure in balance.

Egg yolks and whites provide the most nutrition when eaten together as part of a complete egg. Oranges

also include modest amounts of additional minerals such as calcium, potassium, and thiamine, in

addition to Vitamin C and Folate (vitamin B1). Oranges are high in fiber and contain a lot of vitamin C

and folate, as well as a lot of other nutrients. Also stated by the spokesperson of Clark Thornton-Wood,

a registered dietician and British Dietetic Association (BDA), that Orange provide “more than 100% of

the daily Vitamin C requirement”.

The goal of this study was to provide information about our product, to get more understanding

about developing nutritional sweets, and to improve our skills in attracting and persuading our

respondents to try a product that would help their health. To see if the Orange Yema is suitable for

people of all ages in terms of flavor, texture, look, and color.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Oranges are a valuable crop in terms of economics, with an estimated 60 million metric tons produced

worldwide in 2005 for a total worth of $9 billion. Half of this figure came from Brazil and the United

States of America (Goudeau et al, 2008; Bernard et al 2010)

Citrus fruits, according to Crowell (1999), are the primary source of key phytochemical elements and

have long been prized for their good nutritional and antioxidant qualities. Oranges' high vitamin and

mineral content has been scientifically demonstrated to provide numerous health benefits.

Furthermore, other biologically active, non-nutrient compounds found in citrus fruits, such as

phytochemical antioxidants and soluable and insoluble dietary fibers, are now recognized as beneficial

in reducing the risk of cancer, as well as many chronic diseases such as arthritis, obesity, and coronary

heart disease.
