EDINBURGH

1. EDINBURGH CASTLE

• Considered as one of Scotland's most impressive castles, Edinburgh Castle towers over the
city from the top of the ancient volcano. Moreover, it was built in the 12th century.

• Surrounded by a huge fortress, it served as a royal home and military base, before becoming
a major historical museum and the most visited tourist attraction in the country.

➢ I would like to visit this castle in Scotland because the architecture of this castle fascinates me a
lot.

2. HOLYROOD PALACE

• Located, opposite to Edinburgh Castle and at the bottom of the Royal Mile, Holyrood
Palace, once belonged to Mary Stuart, is today one of the Queen's second homes.

• It is also a must-see tourist spot in Edinburgh because the palace is truly magnificient.

➢ I would really like to go there because the palace is awesome. Also, it is nevertheless the Queen's
second home.

3. ARTHUR’S SEAT

• Opposite to Holyrood Palace, Arthur’s Seat Hill offers a short hike of 1.5 to 2 hours.

• The climb is quite arduous but once you reach the top of this ancient 251-meter-high
volcano, you will discover a marvelous panorama of the whole city.

➢ I want to go there because the view is simply gorgeous and the hike looks tremendous.

4. FORTH BRIDGE

• The Forth Bridge is an impressive railway bridge across the Firth of Forth, providing
transport links between Edinburgh and Fife.

• The Forth Bridge is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

➢ I really like this place, the architecture, its wacky shape, as well as its great history. I would like
to see it with my own eyes.
5. FALKIRK WHEEL

• The Falkirk Wheel is the world's first and only rotating boat lift. It has been designed and
built to connect the Forth & Clyde Canal and the Union Canal which provides coastal
navigation through central Scotland.

➢ I would really like to go to this place, I think the system is amazing and so ingenious that it
makes you have to go and see it.
