MGF provide specialist temporary works solutions to the construction industry.
Our aim is to assist our customers in creating safe working environments for their employees.
We offer a wide range of shoring products including trench boxes, trench sheets, hydraulic
bracing and struts as well as accompanying lifting and safety products to ensure safe access
and egress to excavations. We can also provide a range of structural support solutions and offer

What is a standard solution?
STANDARD SOLUTIONS
A standard solution is a pre-engineered, calculated solution for specification by the customer

through their own temporary works process.
Over recent years MGF has experienced an exponential growth in design requests and customer
demands for faster turnaround times.
The MGF Design Team embarked on a research project to find ways to further support our
customers and continue to deliver a high quality service; whilst fully complying with the latest
safety legislation and design standards.
Research found that 60% of the designs produced showed similarities, so there was scope
to create pre-engineered BS5975 compliant solutions which can be used on projects with
repetitive groundwork operations.
MGF have now produced a suite of standard solutions that cover a range of products including
boxes, walers and struts and our GRiPSHORE® range.

MGF MiDesign®Standard Solutions are:

A simple to assemble two-sided, hydraulic bracing system designed for use with steel
trench sheets to horizontally brace small trenches for the safe installation of utilities.
The complete system can support trench widths of 0.6m to 6.0m and is normally
installed using an excavator.

ENDSAFE STRUTS
A simple lightweight telescopic strut system for
use in conjunction with waler rails and trench
sheets. Designed to safely support vertical soil
faces at the open ends of trench excavations
when it is not possible to safely batter back the
ends of the trench to ground level.

• Compatible with hydraulic walers and steel trench
sheets to provide support to trench ends
• Robust steel struts with pinned connections to
waler rails for ease of assembly
• Telescopic strut allows for varying trench widths
within the specified limits
• During assembly, inner and outer of strut are
connected by a pin and clip arrangement to ensure
safe handling. Once in position, pin and clip can be
removed provided a minimum of 150mm overlap is
maintained

PILING HAMMER (EMV)
A piling and extraction attachment for the easy and
cost-effective installation of trench sheets and sheet
piles. EMVs reduce the cohesion of soils through
vibrations which effectively fluidises the soil. It can
easily be attached to an excavator, directly to the
boom or via a quick hitch adaptor.

AUGER
A drilling device that easily connects to an
excavator quick hitch adaptor and designed to
loosen particularly difficult ground. The Auger is
ideal for use prior to the use of an EMV to install
trench sheets and sheet piles to help speed up site
processes.

• Supplied with an in-house developed cradle to control
the Auger during use
• Telescopic extension to offer an additional 1.5m depth,
to a total of 5.4m

ALUMINIUM UTILITY
MANHOLE BRACE
A lightweight, four-sided aluminium hydraulic bracing frame designed to brace small,
shallow cofferdams during the safe installation of manholes and utilities ranging from
1.5m to 2.4m.

• Single acting hydraulic cylinder incorporated in each brace leg for adjustment of frame size
• Each leg weighs just 35kg
• Where plant access is restricted, frames can be installed using a small excavator
