ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

MONTHLY S.L.A.C.
(February 15, 2022)

Introduction
Learning has many faces. Some people learn by emulating achievers and
those who have gone the acid tests of life while others learn by reflecting on their
experiences. However, oftentimes people learn by training or by being taught. In this
way, the harder the training, the better the outcomes.
In various institutions, people undergo training not just to learn but also to
savor the wonders of brotherhood and friendship through the team building
activities that promote shared goals while being one as a family.

Rationale
The school’s various departments conduct its L.A.C. session monthly relative
to Dep.Ed. Order No.35, series of 2016 which is also known as The Learning Action
Cell as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional
Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning. This
activity also aims to address the pressing needs of its teachers and to further
improve their skills and competencies as well as practice in the teaching profession
relevant to improving learner achievement.

Narrative Report

The monthly Learning Action Cell of the English Department was held in
Samar National School on February 15, 2022. The training started with a registration
followed by an opening program at 2:00 in the afternoon. The prayer was led by
Miss Jo-anne Charlene Martinez followed by the national anthem which was
conducted by Mrs. Rosanna Piamonte. In addition, Miss Pea G. Nacional gave her
opening remarks and this was succeeded by the attendance check for each grade
level through a jingle.
Moreover, the L.A.C. centered its discussion on the new RPMS-PPST for the
current school year which has been delivered by Miss Marjorie V. Malinao. The said
discussion was a reorientation on the Tools, Processes, Organization, and
Assessment on the new RPMS-PPST. The session was very significant and relevant
to the new normal in education in order to address the pressing needs of its teachers
and to further improve their skills and competencies as well as practice in the
teaching profession relevant to improving learner achievement amidst the
pandemic. Afterward, the speaker conducted an open forum for question and
answer among the participants relative to frequently asked questions about the said
topic.
Then, Mr. Efren D. Lima Jr. ended the program with his words of gratitude
and acknowledgement for the L.A.C. organizers and participants. This has been
complemented by the Department Head, Mrs. Myra Veronica D. Letaba as she
encouraged her English teachers not to settle for mediocrity but to aim for greatness
so as to achieve an outstanding performance.
Indeed, the L.A.C. session was very successful as the teachers were able to
learn with fun while strengthening the camaraderie among them.
