RIZAL’S LIFE AND WORKS

“Not all heroes wear capes”, this is a

quote which perfectly suits the life of
Dr. Jose Rizal.
Jose Rizal did not care about
himself, he cared more about helping his
country. Jose also was very smart; he knew
how to work many jobs and had mastered 23
languages. There are many qualities that can
describe every hero in the world. Some
qualities that would describe Jose Rizal are
intelligent, and hardworking. He is not like
the typical national heroes we know who
have fought many wars with sword, guns,
and blood, instead, he fought against the
Spanish government through his pen and
paper. Rizal proved that pen is mightier than
a sword. For his expertise in writings enable
him to convince his whole fellowmen to
attain justice, thus destroying an empire.
His life was one of the most remarkable stories I've ever heard. Not just any regular
Filipino narrative, but the story of an extremely clever and brilliant Filipino who is willing to
commit his entire life to offer freedom and peace to his family and country. He had lived his life
as simply as possible even before the Spaniards began to monitor him. If he was just an ordinary
person, probably he was already forgotten. But because he was extraordinary, he really deserved
to be our national hero. So much people looked up to him. Life of Jose Rizal taught me to be
helpful, brave and humble. During his exile in Dapitan, he cured different eye diseases since he
was an expert ophthalmologist. He was so considerate in a sense that he only asks for payment
only to the rich people. He was so humble, though he was so intelligent but he does not belittle
his inferiors.
Through his works he has enlighten his people about their status in the society, which is
very helpful as of now because we will reminisce on what on our country before, for us also to
enlighten that we should not let other people to bound us. Rizal’s self-sacrifice has been modeled
him to be a hero of the Philippines. He will remain as the heart of the Philippine revolution and
the Philippines national hero and remain at the heart of every Filipino people.
