Dialogue 1: Visioning and food journey
Dialogue 1 mechanics
● The participants will be divided into three groups
to be co-facilitated by NNC and ImagineLaw.
Groups are color-coded.

● The dialogue is composed of two parts: (a) the

group exercise; and (b) the feedback session.
Dialogue 1 mechanics
● The group exercise (Part 1) is composed of a visioning
exercise (Part 1.A) (20 mins) and a food journey (Part
1.B) (20 minutes after lunch).

● The worksheets for both exercises are posted around

the hall for your reference. Each participant will be
asked to write keywords/phrases to answer the guide
questions.

● After everyone pitches in, the facilitators will assist the

group to synthesize their answers into a coherent
message. The visioning exercise should take around 15-
20 minutes.

● The groups will have 20 minutes to visit their partner
group’s work station and have the opportunity to
comment and react on their partner group’s output. The
facilitator-reporter will remain in their own group’s
workstation to provide participants from the reactor group
an overview of their work.

● The reactor group will have color-coded meta-cards and

reaction stickers to post on their partner group’s output to
indicate areas or alignment/agreement or disagreement,
or post questions.

Dialogue 1 mechanics
● For the Food Journey, the groups will trace the
journey that food takes from food production to
consumption, and disposal.

● In every stage of the food’s “journey,” participants

will be asked to identify the key actors, both public
and private, resources and spaces where
government intervenes. To answer this worksheet,
each group member will be given metacards to
write their answers. The exercise should take
around 30-35 minutes.

Dialogue 2 mechanics
● The participants will work with the same groups to
be co-facilitated by NNC and ImagineLaw.

● The 2nd dialogue is also composed of two parts: (a)

the group exercise; and (b) the feedback session.
The groups will follow the same process of using
metacards and reviewing their partner group’s
work.
Dialogue 2 mechanics
● In the group exercise participants will be asked to
identify the facilitating and hindering factors in the
enabling environments for food systems to achieve
Zero Hunger.

● The groups will focus on four components of the

enabling environment:
○ Legal mandate and rule-making authority of the lead
agency/ies
○ Governance structures and coordination mechanisms
○ Policy and regulatory environment
○ Capacity and resources of key implementers
