Part III (this might be on a different part depending on the exercise)
1. Look at waveform plots of Table 1 and 2 and write your observations on the half-wave rectifier:

What I have observed of the waveforms of the half-wave rectifier for table 1 and 2 for the half-wave
rectifier is that in table one, the gap between the waves is as long as one half wave. When the
capacitor is added, the gap between the wave is not a constant straight line but is constant dc
waveform

2. Similarly, write your observations on the full-wave rectifier from Table 3 & 4:

Seen in table 1, the waveform is in a pulsating form with a constant peak voltage and the bottom
voltage that reaches to 0. In table 2 which we added a capacitor, the lowest voltage of the wave is
constantly rising as time passes.

4. What is the effect of adding a capacitor parallel to vo?

The effect of adding a capacitor parallel to vo is that it smooths the voltage. It smooths out the
pulsating voltage output and produces a constant DC voltage.

5. What is the practical use of a rectifier?

A rectifier transforms alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) for various applications. It is
frequently utilized in power supplies for electronic equipment and battery charging systems. It is
also employed in welding and electroplating.
