Invitational Competition in Selected Sporting Events
OPSCSI CHEER DANCE COMPETITION

TECHNICAL GUIDELINES AND GROUND RULES

I. BACKGROUND:
The OPSCSI will be launching a cheer dance competition for this year 2022
OPSCSi sporting events, all participating cheering squads are expected to be
following the rules and safety requirements, this competition is open to all
OPSCSI member school.

II. OBJECTIVES:
This proposed sporting activity aims to:

1. promote healthy lifestyles amidst pandemic,


2. provide avenue for exciting activities that will develop physically and mentally of
our students from the members school of OPSCSI,
3. create our own sporting events in our organization that will line up with BUCAL,
PRISAA and other athletic league in our province.
4. Create developmental league in our organization that will give us opportunity to
select and develop quality athlete that will represent OPSCSI in DepEdPalaro,
regional and national competition, even in other international competition.

III. TEAM:
1. Eligibility
1.1 Only officially enrolled students in respective schools who are
member of the Organization of Private Schools in Camarines Sur inc.
1.2 Secondary Students from Junior High School, Senior High School or
combination from JHS and SHS
2. Team Composition
2.1 Each participating schools may form CHEERING SQUAD
2.2 Each squad not less than 15 and not more than 25 members
2.3 A maximum of 5 additional members may be included who shall
serve as spotters and/or props men
2.4 Spotter or props men must wear black colored uniform

IV. REQUIRMENTS:
1. Team Gallery
2. Photocopy of Vaccination Card (Fully Vaccinated/1st Booster)
3. Enrollment data of present semester signed by the school registrar
4. Photocopy of school ID
5. Birth Certificate
6. Parents consent

V. REGISTRATION FEE
The Registration fee is Php 2,000.00 per participating team that covers the
honorarium and plaque of cedrtificate for the Judges invited and other operation
expenses.

VI. COMPETITION FORMAT:


- Each team will perform a choreographed routine not to exceed five (5) minutes each
team will be given 30 seconds entrance and 30 seconds exit.
- 5 points shall deducted from the final score of each participating team for every 30
seconds, or increment there of.
- Cheer teams should utilize all areas of their squad; pyramid and stunts must be
performed inside the matted area.
- Routine or presentation shall be accompanied by canned music and/or a band of the
participating school
- Routine must be appropriate for the general audience
- Any vulgar or suggestive movements, words or music may result in disqualification.
- Uniforms must be also decent and no tear-away uniforms or removal of clothing is
allowed
- All prop must be registered and cleared with organizers prior to the performance
- Pyrotechnics and other similar dangerous or hazardous props are strictly prohibited.
- Routine must be composed of cheer, dance, stunts, pyramid, tosses, jumps and
tumblings.
- Pyramids is 2 ½ high is allowed, running tumbling passes, and extended stunts will be
allowed.
- There shall be no dangerous lifting formation during the presentation to avoid any
accident or serious injuries.

VII. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING


CHOREOGRAPHY 30%
(creativity, formation, transition & style)
EXECUTION 20%
(level of difficulty and technique)
SYNCHRONIZATION & ACCURACY 20%
CHEER, CHANTS AND YELLS 10%
COSTUME , PROPS AND MUSIC 10%
OVER-ALL IMPACT 10%
(audience impact, projection, expression and energy)
TOTAL: 100%

VIII. A panel of judges shall determine the winners based on the foregoing criteria, any
violations of the foregoing rules may be used as a ground for disqualification or
otherwise cause the appropriate 5 points deduction on the final score.

IX. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final

X. AWARDS

1. CHAMPION - Trophy and plaque of certificate


2. 1st runner up - plaque of certificate
3. 2nd runner up - plaque of certificate
4. Non winners - certificate of participation
