The song JOURNEY by Lea Salonga is the song I chose to relate to our topic curriculum.

The Song
implies the journey of sorrows, sadness, darkness, and failures in life but there are stars at night that
shines and guides in her way. Meaning, in spite of the struggles and hardships in her life, there are hopes
for a better life in the future if one will believe and pray for it.
Like in curriculum, or in life of being a curricularist, there are so many challenges, hardships from the
beginning in creating the curriculum, there are so many steps, methods and strategies formulated,
implemented, and evaluated. Starting from knowing the curriculum, writing, planning, initiating,
innovating, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum.
The teacher/facilitator must be knowledgeable enough to do all these roles to deserve the label of being a
curricularist. As a curricularist, one must be responsive and progressive to embrace the dynamic changing
of the teaching learning process in time. Curricularist must have the mastery of the subject matter,
knowledge in writing and planning, open mindedness, and belief that curriculum will bring and enhance
learning, creative and innovative since curriculum is dynamic and changing. A curricularist also knows
how to give life to the curriculum plan with the support of the materials to achieve the learning outcomes.
And finally, knows how to determine if the desired learning outcomes have been achieved or not.
The product of a successful curricularist is a learner that is equipped with the knowledge, skills and
values to functions effectively and efficiently. The same in our lives that despite of hardships, struggles
and challenges we encounter as we go along our journey, we learn to be strong and conquer all of these to
become a successful. And to create change not only for ourselves but also to the people around us. Life is
a long journey of so many changes that comes along our way, but we have to learn to pray and hope for
better.
