When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always
ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or
exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller
stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic
cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The
sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury
or death.

4. Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 1800 ± 250 N·m (1328 ± 184 lb ft).

5. Tighten bolt (10) to a torque of 1800 ± 250 N·m (1328 ± 184 lb ft).

6. Torque bolt (9) again to a torque of 1800 ± 250 N·m (1328 ± 184 lb ft).

7. Torque bolt (10) again to a torque of 1800 ± 250 N·m (1328 ± 184 lb ft).

8. Repeat Step 4 thru Step 7 for the other side.

Note: Make sure that equalizer bar seals (12) are in the NEUTRAL position before you operate the machine.

9. With a rubber mallet. tap on the center of equalizer bar end pin (8) in order to shake equalizer bar seals (12) to the NEUTRAL position. If equalizer bar seals (12) are not in the NEUTRAL
position, repeat Step 9 until equalizer bar seals (12) are in the NEUTRAL position.

10. Use a flat bar in order to ensure that equalizer bar seals (12) are in a neutral position. Equalizer bar seals (12) must not bulge.

Note: The spacer with the large diameter must be installed between equalizer bar (1) and the rear saddle. The spacer with the small diameter must be installed between equalizer bar (1) and the
front saddle.

11. Put the spacers in position on each side of equalizer bar (1).

12. Attach a suitable lifting device to the free end of equalizer bar (1). Use the suitable lifting device to raise equalizer bar (1).

13. Align equalizer bar (1) with the hole in equalizer bar saddle (10). Apply Tooling (H) on the rear diameter of center pin (7). Apply Tooling (H) to the bores of equalizer bar saddle (10).

14. Apply Tooling (J) onto the center bearings.

15. Position equalizer bar center pin (7) in equalizer bar saddle (10).
Note: Threaded Rods cannot be used with Hydraulic Cylinders as Tooling.

16. Use Tooling (G) to install equalizer bar center pin (7). Equalizer bar center pin (7) should be even with the surface of equalizer bar saddle (11).
