HISTORY

How does your past influence your present being, your identity and behaviour.

I built the foundation of who I am today on the basis of my past. As it should be for everyone who
has had a difficult past and needs to move on. Even if it means starting from scratch, I must be the
architect of my own reinvention. However, your past experiences must not be erased from your
present. The good memories I cherish serve as a reminder of the person who am I, with the
exception that I am no longer as naive as I once were. Not all memories are bad. Furthermore, I
should know that people I meet in the near future won’t be evaluated by my prior actions. Although
the past is gone, memories endure. I am glad with my behaviour because it doesn’t negatively affect
anyone. The past is gone, but the memories are still there. These memories do not define or
determine who will be I am in the future. Negative previous experiences serve as a lesson rather
than a roadblock in the present. I have no regrets as I grin, laugh, and savour the moment. I can
respond to these queries without bias, as well. You are the subject of your own judgment, not that
of those who do not assess the morality of their own deeds. You get to select who you are. Maybe
someday, when addressing these questions, one of these people would do it in a friendly manner
rather than discretely disappearing into the background until another question has to be answered
in a sincere, positive manner. As I move into my future, those experiences will serve as my
foundation and provide me the strength to get through each day. Grow through the things you go
through, as I always say.
