a. The student will sing the famous tagalog folksong, “Magtanim ay Di Biro”
Processing questions:
1. Do you agree to the song that “magtanim ay di biro”? Why?
2. Have you experienced planting some crops? What specific crops have you tried planting? Are you
successful in growing them? If NO, what do you think was the reason of your failure? Why did the
plants die? If YES, can you tell us what did you do?
3. What was the story behind your success in growing them?
4. What did you use in planting and taking good care of your plants? How did you use them
Activity (Presentation) Jigsaw Puzzle (Group Activity).
The class will be divided into 2 groups, each group will be given an envelope with puzzle. They are going
to arrange the puzzle to form a picture.
Each group will give a word that describe the picture. Write the word and give a short explanation.

Analysis (Students will watch a video about the different Farm Tools and its uses.)

4. What are the uses of the different hand tools?
Farm tools play a very important role in agricultural crop production. Their availability makes
Abstraction the work much easier and faster. However, even if one may have the most sophisticated tools and
implements, but does not know how to use them, they are all useless. To do crop production
operations successfully, one must have a good working knowledge of the tools, implements and
equipment before using them. Knowing the nature of a plant is also an advantage.
How to maintain a healthy crop?
-Plant has basic needs in order to survive, they need Water, Sunlight, Air, Space to grow and
Nutrients from the soil. They make their own food in a process of photosynthesis.
How does Agri-crop production play a vital role in our Economy?
The Philippines is still primarily an agricultural country despite the plan to make it an
industrialized economy by 2000. Most citizens still live in rural areas and support themselves
through agriculture. According to a key statistic it shows that almost 45% of our country’s GDP
landed in Agriculture.

Each student will pick 3 names of Farm Tools, he/she will give the function and demonstrate the use of
each tool.
