Discussion 1.2: Does Marketing Create or Satisfy Needs?

Marketing satisfies needs. It is through marketing that we get to know about the existing

products and services. After knowing their existence, we proceed to buy them. In this

manner, marketing satisfies needs and wants through creation of value and delivering

sequence through choosing value, providing that value and communicating it (Joseph,

Omotoyo, Mosunmola, and Taiye, 2016). Likewise, it satisfies wants by creating an avenue

that facilitates exchanging a particular product for value. By purchasing a given product, its

value passes over to the customer. In this manner, the needs of the buyers are satisfied. Thus,

marketing is after identifying the needs of the customers and doing everything possible to

satisfy them. To satisfy the needs, marketing has to inform the customers of the availability

of the good or item that satisfies their needs. This is what influences the customers to take a

step and buy them
