(DISSERTATION/INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR POST-GRADUATE STUDENTS)
ICMR- National Institute for Research in Environmental Health (NIREH), Bhopal offers Dissertation/
Internship Program for students pursuing post-graduation in Public Health, Environmental Sciences,
Statistics/ Biostatistics and Bioinformatics with relevant subjects from recognized university/institute
/college; during January to June. These internship/projects are for students who are willing to work on
secondary data/ ongoing projects where no additional laboratory support / resources will be included.

1. Application: Interested students may apply through email to director.nireh@icmr.gov.in, Director, ICMR-
NIREH, Bhopal. The application is invited from July to October of the academic session.

2. Intake: Number of students being admitted in a batch may vary depending on the available vacancies in a
particular division.

3. Selection: Screening will be based on merit of academic UG/PG credentials along with research proposal and
software skills. Upon selection, the candidate will be informed through e-mail. An undertaking along with a
forwarding letter from the Head of the Institution/Department will be required to submit before the due date for
confirmation by the mid of November.

4. Fees: Selected students will need to pay a non-refundable fee; Rs. 2000/- for Internship (up to 02 months) and
Rs. 6000/- for Dissertation (up to 06 months), towards the cost of training in the form of Online transfer/Demand
Draft in favor of Director, ICMR-NIREH, payable at Bhopal by the end of November.
NOTE:
1. It is mandatory for the students to strictly follow the institutional norms and complete the desired duration of
the training. Certificates will be issued only after submission of thesis and no violation/interim request either
from the student or their host institute/universities/colleges will be entertained.

2. Students should make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel, and living expenses. However, the
shared limited accommodation facility is available at the institute’s guest house on charge basis. The outside
female students will be given the preference on accommodation facility.

3. ICMR-NIREH will not provide any stipend for the project training and accepts no responsibility for costs or
fatality arising from illness or accidents incurred during the training programme; therefore, students have to
take charge of their conduct, behavior and health.

4. Disclosure of information to third party without prior approval of the supervisor shall not be permitted.

5. All intellectual property arising from the dissertation/internship will solely belong to ICMR-NIREH, Bhopal.

6. The concerned student will be given due credit in publications related to work carried out.
