Give the design image you create a brief description of what the principle is all about.

I chose the principle that says “Designers define their roles not as artists but as objective conduits
for spreading important information between components of society.” I created this piece showing a
hand holding a paint brush and a rainbow colors flowing with letters and some positive words. I did that
because I wanted to show that art can bring different emotions and meaning to the viewers and
sometimes it brings comfort. Thus, “art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”

How would it affect the viewers based on the following concepts:

- Inspiration to the viewers

I wanted to show the viewers that art is not just a piece of paper and it holds meaningful
things that they can somehow relate to. My inspiration in making this piece are those viewers
who finds it hard to understand those somewhat complicated painting that holds deep meaning.
I want to show them that art can be interpreted based on what they see and feel, because
everyone can have a different interpretation and understanding from one another. I wanted to
show, through this piece, that art helps to spread the emotions and informations about what the
artist or our society is experiencing.

- Influence to the viewers

I hope that this art will influence the viewers and reach their heart. I want to influence
them and encourage them to do art because I believe every person has that magic within them
that they can share and help inspire other people. I hope they can realize that art is not about
what they see on the artwork itself, but what meaning they see as they examine and understand
the artwork. I hope by the help of this art I can influence and convince them to love art and not
be intimidated just because they thought they don’t deserve to love art because they have
different understanding and interpretation from other people.
