A. Program Title: “LITER” Learners Intensive Training towards

B. RATIONALE
Extensive reading is an important aspect of any English language
reading program. Extensive reading motivates learners to read large
number of texts on a wide range of topics because the learners themselves
select the reading material based upon its relevance to their interests,
knowledge, and experience. Learner read texts that match their language
level, and they choose the time and place to read. Extensive reading
allows learner to find pleasure in reading as they gain a general
understanding of literary ideas, learn reading strategies, acquire new
vocabulary, and increase their English proficiency.

C. OBJECTIVES
Assist learners at risk to improve their reading skills.
Enhance/develop the reading abilities of slow/non-readers.
Evaluate the improvement of the learners’ reading proficiency.
Equip pupils with necessary reading materials.
Encourage to read for pleasure

D. EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Learners have phonetic mastery and oral fluency
Improved reading performance
Young and independent readers

I. Sustainability Plan
