when the dbr4 finally made its appearance at the dutch grand prix, it was slow
and outdated compared to the rest of the field and both of their drivers carol
Shelby and roy salvadori retired from the race. Their next entry at the british
grand prix saw salvador qualify second but he could only manage a p6 finish
which was outside of the points back in those days, and shelby retired again.

shelby finishing 10th

than the 1959 version, and ,featured independent suspension, however, it was
a shambolic start to the season, their engine was too heavy for the car, and due
to the dbr5 not being ready in time, only salvadori was entered to the dutch
grand prix. Racing a spare version of the dbr4 qualifying 18 th, however, formula
1 refused to pay them and aston martin subsequently refused to race. The dbr5
was back for the british grand prix, but it would prove to be their final entry with
the team failing to score a single championship point.
