Endagered species: Animals or plants in danger of extinction;

Unleaded fuel: fuel (Combustível) not contaning lead (chumbo);

Recycling: adapting used things to a new use;

Sea level rise: the level of the oceans increases;

Earthquake: violent shaking (tremor) of the earth’s surface;

Desertification: process of becoming desert;

Typhoon: violent tropical storm with very strongs winds;

Global warming: gradual rise in temperature of the earth’s atmosphere;

Hurricane: Usually at sea with very strongs winds;

Drought: long period of time without raining.

The Earth’s is in danger because of water, land and sound polution. The greenhouse effect is a
result of the ozone layer destruction. The global warming is causing glacier discharge. Human
activity is accelerating climate changing. Forest fires are one of the causes for desforestation.
Toxic waste is endagering some species. The use of unleaded fuel is alternative to restrain the
dangers of exhoust fumes. We must follow the policity of the 4R’s : reusing, reducing, recycle
and renewing.
