Project Charter

Project Title: A camping trip to Glacier National Park


Project Start Date: 6/10/23
Project End Date: 6/12/23
Project Manager: Madison Bidwell
Project Description:

Planning a 3 day 30th Birthday camping trip for 4 women in Glacier National Park. Two
women are coming from Cincinnati, OH, the other two are coming from Phoenix, AZ.
Stakeholders:
Madison- Project Manager
Tiffany- Event coordinator
Debbie- Travel Agent
Shelly- Birthday girl from Cincinnati
Kara- Friend from Cincinnati
Laura- Friend from Arizona
Carol- Friend from Arizona

Project Objectives

S: Planning a 30th birthday camping trip for 4 women. 


M: All 4 Women should have travel, lodging, and food arranged for. 
A: Deadlines will be set for the arrangements to be made in advance. 
R: Planning will begin 10/25/22 to provide ample time for preparations.
T: All preparations will be finalized by 4/1/23.

Project Scope

Includes Travel, camping pass, groceries


Excludes tents, clothing, travel to airports. 
Project Assumptions

This project assumes that an Uber driver will be available. According to the Glacier National
Park website, during the summer months, there is a surge of Uber drivers, but to assume
longer wait times due to the rural nature of the Kalispel town closest to the park. 
Project Constraints

We will be bound in grocery options to what is available at the local grocery store. There will
be down time for the women from Cincinnati, while they wait 2 hours for the arrival of the
women from Phoenix. 

Procurement Plan

Participant A purchase tickets from CVG website by 4/1/23 to avoid up-charges. 


Participant C purchase tickets from PHX website by 4/1/23 to avoid up-charges. 
All 4 participants procure groceries and a cooler after making camp on the night of arrival. 
Shuttle passes will be purchased on-site upon arrival at FCA.
Birthday cake and balloons will be bought during the grocery store trip.
Firewood will be purchased at the visitor center at the national park. 
Participant B will distribute weather reports as well as packing recommendations 1 week prior to
departure flights to allow time for participants to buy and pack seasonal appropriate attire.
