CHAPTER 1

Rodney was just your average kid. There was nothing so special about him. His parents sent him to a
boarding school. Initially, he was in an all-boys boarding school, but after a squabble between his
dad and the principal, he then moved to a mixed boarding school. So, trying to fit in, he was trying
his best to get along with his new classmates. On his first day, he met Tom and Richard. Tom was an
athlete and was ridiculously fast while Richard was rather reserved. They asked “the new kid”
Rodney if they could be friends and Rodney said sure. The both of them promised to introduce him
to other people and help him out if he needed help.

On the second day, Rodney got assigned to his new class and then few moments later, as he was
settling in, he saw Angela. Angela was stunning, intelligent, funny and friendly. Immediately he saw
her, he fell in love. Then because he quite the extrovert, Rodney went up to Angela and she said hi
and smiled. As he looked at her face, he was astounded because she was the most beautiful thing he
had ever seen. So, he made up his mind to impress Angela.

Rodney, in a couple of weeks, learnt a lot about her, what she liked, and what she disliked. So he
found out she liked going to the field to watch boys play soccer so, he then joined them. Even
though he was terrible, he never stopped coming. He was also looking to see if she was watching
and when she was, he would always try to make a shot so he would look good.

After some time, they became friends and started talking. He then observed that Tom would sit with
her sometimes and be discussing and laughing quietly. At this time, Rodney had made a lot of
friends. So, he asked one of them what was going on and he found out that Tom and Angela were in
a relationship. Not willing to give up, he thought to himself that if he broke the relationship, he
would hurt his friend Tom so, he said that he should remain friends with Angela and when their
relationship falls apart, he would strike.

Gradually, after about three months, they separated so Rodney said to himself that that was the
perfect opportunity to strike. And shortly after then, there was this kid named Joe. Joe was very dark
and muscular. Joe was also waiting to strike after the friction between Tom and Angela. Before
Rodney could strike, Joe beat him to the punch and before Rodney knew it, Joe and Angela were
already close but joe hadn’t asked her out yet. So Rodney continued talking to her and three of them
became very close friends. They always talked together, ate together and did almost everything
together. But one day, unknown to Rodney, Joe asked he out. Rodney wasn’t happy but he wasn’t
going to give up, so he decided to create friction in their relationship.
