Dear Applicant:

On behalf of the Program Director and Faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology at UT Health San
Antonio (UTHSA), I would like to congratulate you on being selected to interview for a 2021-2025
residency position at our Institution. While your academic performance is very important to us, of equal
importance are the personal traits that have been attributed to you in the letters of recommendation received
on your behalf. This program values honesty, integrity, ethics, leadership, and teamwork, and we hope you
will observe these same qualities in our program as you interview.

Due to these unprecedented times, all interviews will be conducted virtually via Zoom and Microsoft
Teams. Please download both programs for the interview process. The general schedule for your interview
is noted below. All sessions are in Central Standard Time zone.

There will be a virtual “Meet and Greet” on the Monday evening of your interview week via Microsoft
Teams. During this, you will have an opportunity to speak with some of the Anesthesia Residents in the
program; you will join a group of applicants in the Microsoft Teams meeting via the supplied link. Each
resident will have a topic on which to focus (why UT Health San Antonio is a great place to train, residency
structure, and San Antonio as a city), but please feel free to ask questions about anything. You will also
have further opportunity to discuss the program with a resident on the interview day itself in a smaller
group. Our goal is to answer all of your questions! Attire is casual.

Interview Day - Zoom

You have already selected Group A or Group B interview group when choosing an interview date. Please
see the attached interview schedule for your specific times and interview day flow, along with the Zoom
link.

The interview will start with an introduction to the program. After the introduction, you will be split into
two groups, either interviewing with our faculty first and then attending a presentation by one of our
residents or vice versa. The interview itself will consist of three individual 20-minute interviews with
different Clinical Professors from our Department with a small break in between. During the resident
presentation, there will be an ample question and answer period in a small group setting so you can listen
to, and benefit from, your fellow applicants’ questions and comments. At the end of the day, there will be
brief outgoing talk before the interview day concludes.
