OBJECTIVES
WHAT IS RELIGION? HOW DOES
RELIGION AFFECT GLOBALIZATION?
Globalization is the networking and expansion of once local
products, beliefs, and practices into universal products, beliefs
and practices often through technology.

Religion is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and

world views that establishes symbols that relate humanity to
spirituality and to moral values.
SILK ROAD
SILK ROAD
is a historically important international
trade route between China and the
Mediterranean.
in 1877, it was named the "Silk Road" by
Ferdinand von Richthofen, an eminent
German geographer.
Buddhism was the first missionary faith.
was a road where Europe, Asia, and the
Middle East traded for different things.
THE SILK ROAD
How Religions Crossed Borders
Silk Road connected the world. It used trade routes that connected
Central Asia, the Mediterranean, China and Japan. It also brought
economic impact on many countries, as the Silk Road grew, more
people started working as merchants and they started making money.

SPREAD OF RELIGION:
How did it spread?
Information technologies, transportation means and
the media are deemed important means on which
religionists rely on the dissemination of their religious
ideas.
Furthermore, the media plays the same important role in
the dissemination of religious ideas. In this respect, a lot of
TV channels, radio stations and print media are founded
solely for advocating religions.
Through the use of various media and apps, it is now
possible for any religion to spread beyond national borders,
allowing even small new religious movements to engage in
overseas activities and leading to new unseen religious
developments.

Globalization technologies, therefore, have helped religions

of different forms i.e., fundamentalist, moderate, etc. to cross
geographical boundaries and be present everywhere.
