PROJECT PROPOSAL
AT THE END OF THE LESSON THE LEARNERS ARE EXPECTED TO:
1. delineate what a project proposal is;
2. the learners determine the ways a writer can elucidate on a concept by definition, explication
and clarification;
3. identifies situations in which a concept paper may be effectively used to improve our society;
and
4. comprehends various kinds of concept papers

Lesson Proper:

PROJECT PROPOSAL
It is an outline of plan for implementing certain project, giving extensive information
about the intention, the ways to manage it and the results to be delivered from it.
It is a detailed description of a series of activities aimed at solving a certain problem
(NEBIU 2002).

PRINCIPLES OF A PROJECT PROPOSAL (REPOA 2007)

1. provide a logical presentation of a research idea;
2. illustrate the significance of the idea;
3. show the idea's relationship to past actions; and
4. articulate the activities for the proposed project

TWO ELEMENTS OF PROJECT PROPOSAL

1. Project Planning (formulation of project elements)
2. Proposal Writing (converting the plan into a project document/writing)

TIPS TO WRITE A SUCCESSFUL PROPOSAL (Adapted from AMERICAN RED

CROSS 2006)
1. Plan ahead. Allow plenty of time for those involved to meet, discuss, and review progress
in the grant writing process.
2. Be realistic in what you are proposing. What can reasonably be accomplished in the
scope time and resources of this grant?
3. Be a learning organization. Learn from your own and others experiences with the same
donor! Read the reviews of other proposals that have been submitted to the same donor
it is possible.
4. Be factual and specific. Don't talk in generalities or in emotional terms. Be sure to
substantiate all statements in your proposal, otherwise don't make them.
5. Limit technical and organizational jargon. Use language anyone will understand — no
abbreviations, initials, or jargon.
6. Call the donor if you have questions. Realize that many others will be calling as well and
don't wait until the last minute.
7. Consider collaborating with other organizations. At a minimum, find out what other
proposals are being submitted to the same donor at the same time.
8. Clarify partner’s roles and responsibilities. When collaborating with partners, be sure you
have determined who will be responsible for what.
9. Choose a format that is clear and easy to read.
10. Keep within page limits. Be aware of donor priorities. Carefully match your project with an
appropriate funding source.

Strand and year: Grade 12 – STEM H Judea

DIRECTIONS: Crafting a research proposal can seem daunting, but remember it is

just a means to an end. Fundamentally, you are just giving reasons for asking and
answering a certain question. Keep that in mind and you are likely to convince your
readers that your question is worth answering.

To brush up on your basic rigor, you are task to write a PLAN of your own
compelling project proposal addressing a particular issue or topic related to your
strand. Use the steps below as your guide.

STEP 1: Define the problem/s

STEP 2: Present your solution
STEP 3: State your plan/approach
STEP 4: Outline your project schedule and budget
STEP 5: Tie it all together
STEP 6: Edit/proofread your proposal

PROJECT PROPOSAL
1. Introduction

 Is the extra 2 years spent on studying because of the K-12 program really necessary?
 To the government it may not seem like a problem but to the people who lacked the
means to pay the tuition fee for their children who wanted to graduate from college it
is. Not only that but the extra 2 years spent on studying will delay the students who
seeks to graduate as soon as possible to be put in the workforce of the Philippines, it
also causes the unwelcome segregation of courses in college being divided by STEM,
HUMSS and ABM
 My project proposal aims to make it an optional choice for students who wants to be
immediately employed to produce workers whom may not be excellent are competent
enough to fill the missing gaps between the workforce hierarchy

2. Motivation

 On the 15th of May 2013, President Benigno Aquino III approved the Republic Act 10533
that entails the implementation of K-12 program in the Philippines
 Because of this, many students are forced to spend an extra 2 years in Senior High
school, while the lesser fortunate had to worry about the increase of expenses added to
the burden of those who have student loans
 Keep in mind, there are pros and cons about the K-12 program, it only became a
problem to some as it is required even for those who doesn’t need it, “some” may seem
like a small number but on holistic point of view, it is just as important as “most”
 By making the K-12 program an optional choice, both parties will be satisfied, 2 years
won’t be wasted by holding back would-be graduates, and there will be an increase of
employment for generally competent people for jobs that doesn’t require extreme
expertise

3. Project details

 Should the project be deemed worthy of appraisal the general population of the
Philippines would immediately see the benefits of this project especially those who are
literate
 The only problem that could be seen as it can easily be botched by the government like
how it handled senator Miriam Defensor Santiago who filed senate bill no. 1573
“Pandemic and all hazards preparedness act” which would’ve lightened the load the
crisis the Philippines is currently facing right now
 Due to this being a project to modify an existing law the money won’t be an issue but a
lot of time could be spent by those who are in position to support/oppose the project
proposal by debating and making, i would approximately take a year before the project
bears fruit, if not we might as well assume that it has been sent to the government
records and marked as “Pending” to be ignored for more than 7 years

This sums up my project proposal for the K-12 program

Note: Take this as a grain of salt, this is a project proposal made by a grade-12 student, not someone
who studies a law course
