NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
First I would like to wish you all strength and patience with the wind, the torrential rain and for some, the floods. Then we are in line for 9 months of politick- ing until the Government for the next three years is born.
As I said in my earlier note, Faye has lined up a
diverse selection of presenters to our regular 2nd Tues- day meetings. They have a range of different wines and some unusual ones thrown in. James will continue to treat us with his mouth-watering food creations. Unfortunately, like everything else, the cost of our meals is going up. Your committee has decided that we will hold the cost of the meals for 2 months and recom- mend any decisions be taken at the March AGM.
Finally we do need new committee members, including a
replacement for me. Think about how you could contrib- ute to your club. It can only work with your help. Cheers, Maurice

AUCKLAND SUMMER GARDENING
www.nswfs.org.nz WAIRIKI WINES HAWKES BAY
Wairiki was founded by Brett Linn in 2008 but his pas-
sion for wine began long before that. Brent’s interest was sparked when working in banking, helping winemakers find the funding to plant their vines into the soil and establish their labels. From there his curiosity about the industry grew. He travelled extensively to explore and experience the best winemakers and most successful wine making regions around the world. The winery was named ‘Wairiki’ which means ‘little water’ in Te Reo, because it’s land is blessed with a small stream that runs through it in winter. THE WHOLE TEAM AT WAIRIKI
