o GOAL: Develop strong decoding strategies when reading across all subject areas. o RATIONALE: Victoria State Government discusses the importance of implementing the five major components of reading instruction in the classroom. o NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those subjects to students. o TLMD: Domain 4. Facilitating Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning. o OBJECTIVE: Serve as a reading specialist at my school site in order to support teachers in reading instruction (long-term). I will develop my leadership in Professional Development (All Content Areas) o GOAL: Become an expert in utilizing PBIS to manage difficult behaviors in the classroom. Use my newfound information to share with colleagues. o RATIONALE: There are many benefits to utilizing positive behaviors interventions and supports in the classroom. The Center on PBIS discusses the how PBIS can be effective if the proper supports are in place for educators. o NBPTS: Proposition 5: Teachers are members of learning communities. o TLMD: Domain 3. Promoting Professional Learning for Continuous Improvement. o OBJECTIVE: Serve as a PBIS coach at my school site in order to help support teachers (short term).
