Writing Task 2: (Discuss both views and give opinion essay)

that economic progress is their most important goal. Some people, however, think that
other types of progress are equally important for a country.

Some people argue that the government must focus on promoting wider economy, while
others believe that improvements in social service, or environment should be taken seriously as
well. This essay will discuss two viewpoints and give a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, the economic growth is considered as a fundamental goal for each and every
country. Firstly, the standard way of measuring a country’s strength is to look at gross domestic
product per capita which stands as GDP. In particular, the higher GDP rate is associated with a
high level of employment and living standards for residents. When people live in a developed
country, USA for example, they are likely to get many golden opportunities to study at top
universities or have an access to cutting-edge technology. Secondly, economic progress enables
states to invest in other countries with the aim of standing on the global stage. Thus, it will help
increase the currency value as well as the trading power.
On the other hand, there is still a variety of factors which play an important role in improving
the citizens’ life. Due to climate change and global warming, people nowadays are facing with
many natural disasters such as earthquake or heavy storm . For instance, an earthquake
tragedy in Turkey had caused millions of deaths, and people are suffered from freezing cold
weather or become homeless when their houses were demolished by the ruin. Thus,
governments and related authorities are responsible for making sure the safety of their citizens.
Also, each individual should contribute to protect our environment, making a progress in
making the earth become a better place.
In my opinion, there are many different types of progress that are crucial for our nation.
Implementing programs that provide them with higher education and environment
preservation should be regarded as major aspects.
To conclude, despite the wealthy state's necessity for the region, the nation's overall progress
should not be overlooked.
