Driveshaft: Precautions for repair 29A

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

1 - Advice to be followed before any operation

For an operation requiring the use of a lift, follow the
safety advice (see Vehicle: Towing and lifting) (02A,
Lifting equipment).

2 - Instructions to be followed during the operation

WARNING

In order to prevent irreversible damage to the front

hub bearing:
- Do not loosen or tighten the driveshaft nut when
the wheels are on the ground.
- Do not place the vehicle with its wheels on the

cardiagn.com
ground when the driveshaft has been loosened or
removed.

Lubricate the base of the driveshaft bearing with BR2 +

GREASE (see Vehicle: Parts and ingredients for
the repairwork) (04B, Consumables - Products) to
prevent the bearing from sticking.
Always replace the differential output seals every time
a driveshaft is removed.
Check for oil leaks from the gearbox. An oil leak can
damage a driveshaft.
