Question? Do you agree that because his political project was anchored to assimilation, Del Pillar
considered the Pacto de Sangre as an agreement between equals?

Luna's work has been in a noise at the previous time because of first the quality and
excellence of his work is amazing , incredible and unique but at the same time all those picture lies
a thousands of message specially centers to the happenings before to the Philippines in the hands
of the Spaniards. The cruelty that we receive from them despite welcoming them to our home no
there is a work of Luna titled El Pacto de Sangre that is controversial also before. Now the
question is did Del Pilar considered the Pacto de Sangre as an agreement between equals
because his political project was anchored to assimilation.

According to Prof. Sinardet, the El Pacto de Sangre or by means The Blood Compact is
indeed for the for the equality of the Philippines and Spanish colony. She did not mention that it is
an agreement but she said that the purpose of it is for a fair point of view and fair status of the
people for the both countries. That it should be what is happening in the reality especially what the
Spaniards will do. You can also see in the paintings some cultures of both countries but most
specially the Philippines traditions. On the other side the people from the Philippines is not so
happy with what the paintings wanted to convey because it erase the view of the brutal wrong
doings of the Spaniards that time and it makes it as a racial prejudices specially to the natives of
the Philippines because it is like they forget what Spaniards do to us.(ISEAS, 2021).

From my own point of view if Luna's intention is like that on what prof. Sinardet said. I think
that it is good actually. Like who doesn't want an equality right? It makes your life peaceful but I
think at that time those message in paintings want to convey especially the fairness message will
still be there not until it will turn to reality. We all know what is happening to the Philippines at that
time, the brutality of the Spaniards for how many years you can not blame the Philippines for
having a hard feelings to them. Still , the paintings help people to be motivated to fight for what is
right and hoping those will come to reality.

According to Blanco, El Pacto de Sangre views is for the good relationship of both Philippines
and Spanish colony before that is really what should be what happening most importantly is the
right one for the Philippines. He has the a lots of views the painting like as if Luna is being forced
by the Spaniards to delivered that Spanish is the true owner of our lands and on the other side
that Luna's El Pacto de Sangre painting is just like what his other painting message about. About
the Philippine revolution from the Spanish government and all of the details of the picture meaning
is revolts. On the other side people question the legitimacy of the counter Philippines to hands of
the Spaniards.(Blanco J. -2004)

I believe Luna intended that true meaning of that painting all for the Philippines freedom it is
not surprising because you can see his support to us from his previous works we even considered
him as a hero as per decision of those people that is knowledgeable on us to history. He is just
using a sugar coated point of view to fight so it is not obvious. To fight silently using his painting as
an eye opener to the Filipino people. It silent but deadly fight. Let me just also point out how proud I
am to the Filipino before that they become fearlessly they even question the Spanish colony
because as time goes by they are being enlighten with the works and message of our hero’s and
their experience so they try their best to educated their selves to be away from the ignorance that
cause the pain. Any way those are paintings so we expected that people with different point of
view will convey it's message differently unless the painter really discuss what the meaning of it.

Therefore I conclude that withies political project was anchored to assimilation, Del Pilar
considered the Pacto de Sangre as an agreement between equals as you can see to the RRL
above some almost proof that Luna's really message if for that. From his old works meaning , it is
not just too direct but our heart really know what it is.Of serves as a message to us on what we are
going to lose if we are not educated with that and if we continued play blind out of all the
happenings before. All he want is for us to be unified and to fight all together to save the land that
we legitimately own.

Out of all of this I would like to thanks Luna and all of the hero’s and people, who fight, suffer
and even lose their life just to save our country. We were not be in the place that we are today
without them. All of their work, and message will forever be cherish and be part of our history. For
us the present times is we should continue the legacy of them, preserve and protect our country
by any means because if we will not do it then who. We are the one who has a right and truly own
this land of Philippines it is our precious home without it we might be throw any where just like no
identification at all. We should look up to them specially their good traits.
