following position:

CHIEF ENGINEER, SIGNALLING & COMMUNICATION

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• To plan and provide reliable signalling & communication system to ensure safe and efficient train
operations throughout KTMB network.
• To conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of signalling & communication by effectively managing
the operation of all maintenance activities to avoid operations disruption.
• To achieve cost-effective maintenance of signalling & communication system operation via prudent
planning and close monitoring of the maintenance operating budget.
• Formulate rules and regulations pertaining to signalling & communication systems and test officers on
their knowledge of rules pertaining to railway operations to promote high safety standards in the industry.
• Ensure that all signalling & communication Systems comply with the statutory requirement of the Ministry
of Transport, Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission, Energy Commission and other
regulatory bodies.
• To oversee logistic depot management as well as ensure the availability and functionality of the depot’s
facilities.
• Manage the response and availability of break down rescue team from signalling & communication
regions.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least a Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in a subject that has some synergy with the signalling
& communication system. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage;
• At least 10 years experience in a manager position in signalling & communication company or a closely
related field with at least 5 years experience at the senior management level; OR
• For internal candidate - Qualified Senior Manager (G04) with at least 5 years experience in a similar
position within KTMB;
• Well expose in finance, business development and management;
• Able to command the respect of the Board of Directors, Management and staff;
• Proven strategic leadership, management and decision-making skills together with strong commercial
acumen;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Bahasa Melayu.
