2022 NATIONAL OBSERVANCE OF THE FILIPINO VALUES
MONTH
To Schools Division Superintendents
1. In reference to DepEd Memorandum 101, s. 2022, this office through the
Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) announces the 2022
National Observance of the Filipino Values Month (FVM) with the theme:
“Magagandang Kaugaliang Pilipino: Isabuhay at Pagyamanin Tungo sa
Matiwasay at Maunlad na Kinabukasan”.
2. Relative to this, all schools, both public and private are encouraged to
integrate the Filipino values in the teaching-learning activities, not only in
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP) but also in all learning areas.
3. Activities relative to the observance of the FVM shall be held in accordance
with DepEd Order 9, s. 2005, entitled “Instituting Measures to Increase
Engaged Time-on Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith” and DO 34, s.
2022, entitled “School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022-2023".
4, During the celebration, the minimum public health standards shall be
observed to prevent and minimize the spread of COVID-19.
5. Schools Division Offices EsP EPS/Focal Persons are requested to submit a
comprehensive report that describes the activities implemented in relation to
the observance following the enclosed template @ hitips:/ /bit.ly/FVM-2022 on
or before December 19, 2022 using the attached template for consolidation
(see Enclosure 1),

1, __ Presidential Proclamation No. 479 titled Declaring the Month of November
of Every Year as Filipino Values Month was signed on October 25, 1994, by the
late President Fidel V. Ramos to create moral awakening and national consciousness
on human values that are unique, genuine, and positively Filipino. With this
declaration, Filipinos of all ages and from alll sectors of the society are enjoined to
actively participate in this annual observance.
2. In compliance with the proclamation and ensure realization of its goal, the
Department of Education (DepEd) joins the nation in the celebration of the 2022
National Observance of the Filipino Values Month with the theme, Magagandang
Kaugaliang Pilipino: Isabuhay at Pagyamanin Tungo sa Matiwasay at Maunlad na
Kinabukasan. This year’s theme focuses on how Filipino values can be strengthened
and exercised in the life of each Filipino that can contribute to nation-building and
achievement of individual and national goals.
3. During the month-long observance, all schools, both public and private are
encouraged to integrate the Filipino values in the teaching-learning activities, not
only in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP) but also in all the different learning areas.
Likewise, such values can also be incorporated in the activities of the different
celebrations of the month, such as the:
National Children’s Month,
Economic and Financial Literacy Week,
Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week,
Araw ng Pagbasa,
National Week for the Gifted and Talented,
National Science and Technology Week, and
Other Co-curricular activities.

4. The DepEd offices, regional, division, district, and school levels in
collaboration with other stakeholders may create campaign and advocacy materials
anchored on the theme to increase awareness among learners and community
people.

Inter-Agency Task Force rulings shall be observed to prevent and minimize the
spread of COVID-19 in the country.
7. The DepEd through the Bureau of Learning Delivery (BLD), regional and
schools division offices shall continuously support the observance of FVM through
monitoring, provision of technical assistance, and feedback of the implementation of
activities during the month-long celebration of the FVM to ensure sustainability of
promoting Filipino values in the entire basic education system,
8. _ The regional offices shall submit a comprehensive report that describes the
activities implemented in relation to the observance of the FVM following the enclosed
template through email at bld.tld@deped.gov.ph not later than December 31, 2022.
These reports will serve as basis for future policy development.
