TITLE OF PROPOSAL: PROJECT “PACKWENTA “ (Promoting Accounting/Counting

Knowledge for the Wholesome and Enriching Numeracy Testing Activities)

NAME OF SCHOOL: LIM-AO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
NAME OF PRINCIPAL: MICHAEL C. VILLENA
CONTACT PERSON: MICHAEL C. VILLENA
CONTACT NUMBER: CP # 09057180845

I. Background of the Study (200 WORDS MAXIMUM)

In order to examine one's arithmetic abilities, learners of all grade levels
participate in a competitive test known as numeracy test. The numeracy test is
designed to measure the level of mastery of the learners' knowledge of the four
fundamental operations in mathematics. Learners will be able to acquire
fundamental mathematical computations that will be of greater use in their
academic careers.  Additionally, it improves learners' ability to analyze and
comprehend real-world challenges. The goal of providing high-quality
education becomes meaningless if this ability is not possessed.

Students' results will be divided into highly numerates, moderately

numerates and non-numerates, with each category having a corresponding
number of points required. Learners who do not fall into the
numerates category will be required to retake the test and receive tutoring from
their teachers. This is critical for both the educators and the institution since it
demonstrates how capable and prepared the students are to handle the
challenges of the real world. Students who have trouble answering the
numeracy test will be left behind if no strong measures are in place to help
them. This is why the Department of Education (DepED) is committed to
strengthening this project by mandating that all schools conduct numeracy
tests to address these Mathematical problems.
Moreover, the Grade level advisers/Math/Science teachers will expose the
learners with simple problems which adheres the ideas of the Three Acts Of
Goodness. (doing good deeds, speaking good words, and thinking good
thoughts)

II. Objectives of the study

The primary goal of Numeracy Intervention Program is to develop and hone
the basic Arithmetical/Mathematical skills of all Junior High School especially
learners who fall under the category of “Non-numerates”. It specifically aims to:
a. Uplift the numeracy skill of learners with the use of four fundamental
operation in mathematics/arithmetic.
b. Encourage manual computation rather than to become dependent of
calculators and the like.
c. Attain zero non-numerates on the fourth quarter post-test.
d. Expose the learners with simple mathematical problems in regards with
the Three Acts of Goodness.

III. Significance and relevance of the Project

Project PACKWENTA (Promoting Accounting/Counting Knowledge for

Wholesome and Enriching Numeracy Testing Activities) is significant to the

students and teachers at Lim-ao National High School because it not only
serves as a response to the school's commitment to helping and guiding them

in answering the numeracy test, but it also serves to transform individuals and
societies as well as by nurturing kindness and wisdom.

This project also opened the door for the school to begin investing in the
welfare of its students, and for the institution itself to recognize that projects
like this are beneficial and appropriate for assisting students with academic
challenges while upholding righteousness. In addition, through this project,
the students learn how to value life and live in dignity and hope as well as
create value and significance in their own lives and others.

Project PACKWENTA will undoubtedly produce learners who do better in their

studies and achieve higher academic performance, which will lead them
towards global competence while also practicing Goodness like doing good
deeds, speaking good words, and thinking good thoughts in their lives.

The students in Grades 7- 10 will be the beneficiaries of this project, which will
be spearheaded by the School Head, Head of Science/Math department, Math
Coordinator, and with the unconditional support of Math/Science Teachers in
the school.

IV. This Project will be spearheaded by the School Head with the support of
